Who was the last recruit we had from Louisiana that didn't make some type of impact?

He's a stud.

I like him more than Gibbs and his intentionally sped up film.

I say take all three. I fully expect the kid from Georgia to do some shot to get in trouble. Just seems to be what they do when they come here

Not necessarily. He's still running away from guys. I just question someone who sends out sped up film.

RECRUITING: Around the horn with Hank South
quote:

With a stretch of three home games on tap for the Crimson Tide, recruiting action in Tuscaloosa is heating up. Joining us to talk about it on the Built By BamaOnLine podcast is Hank South, recruiting analyst for BOL. Among the topics we hit on with Hank:

* What the recent commitment of Jamil Burroughs means for UA's latest DL class.

* Is the Crimson Tide done at running back for 2020?

* With LSU game looming, a taste of Tiger-Tide battles down the stretch.

* What is five-star tight end target Arik Gilbert up to this weekend?

* The continued effect of the Bryce Young commitment.

Man I was wrong about Burroughs. Some of his film is incredible.

It looks like my time in Prattville will be coming to an end soon.

San Antonio is the likely next destination.

I don't see it with Edwards. Like, at all. But I'm wrong a lot and really hope I'm wrong on him.

I do like that there's a Bourgeois High School in LA though.

Dang, that sucks!

I find out where I’m going November 14th and I really hope it’s not San Antonio!! My wife and I really want to go to Europe!

He reminds me of Christian Hackenberg.

Burst. He sticks a foot in the ground and is already past the defender before they recognize it.

I like his film too. He is blowing up the OL
and getting in the backfield.

Tide commit Jahquez Robinson playing on ESPNU Friday

quote:

Alabama cornerback commit Jahquez Robinson and the Sandalwood Saints will square off with the Mandarin Mustangs on Friday night at 6 p.m. CT on ESPNU.

The four-star defensive back will be tasked with defending an offense led by Georgia quarterback commit Carson Beck (a one-time UA pledge).

Can an OG MegaThreader remind of the other guy a few years back accused of this?

I want to say Josh Jacobs or Tyren Jones, but can't commit to it...

It's been more than one.

I don't remember specifically who it was though.

I will say Tyren Jones had some of the most ridiculous film of any RB I've ever seen. It's too bad he was a fricking idiot.

Rivals Rankings: How Spiegelman's top 5 would look

quote:

5. Arik Gilbert

Gilbert is the top tight end for Rivals and has an argument to be made as arguably the best receiver in the country. The uncommitted prospect has an ideal blend of size (6-foot-5, 248 pounds), speed and physicality for the position. He’s an absolute freak and looked the part at the Five-Star Challenge over the summer. All I can remember is Gilbert running smooth routes, flashing a tremendous catch radius and vertical ability and making some really difficult grabs over some of the nation’s top defenders.

Fact or Fiction: Joe Burrows is the midseason Heisman favorite (Ignore the Heisman stuff, there's more to this article)

quote:

3. With four defensive tackles committed, Alabama is out of the McKinley Jackson race.

Farrell's take: FICTION. Not so fast my friend. Jamil Burroughs gives Nick Saban and company four committed defensive tackles, but I don't think the Tide back off Jackson now after putting in so much work with the Mississippi product. Defensive tackles are hard to find, and Jackson could be the best of the group this year if he gets more consistent with his play, so Alabama will continue to push. The Tide might not have room in the end, but I don't think they are done here.

Gorney’s take: FICTION. I struggled with this one, though, because Jackson might turn his focus to others because of the glut of defensive tackles now in the class. I’m still interested to see if Timothy Smith considers Florida moving forward after visiting this summer, but now I think Jackson looks even more closely at Ole Miss and LSU. With Alabama loading up, I still think the four-star ends up with either the Rebels or the Tigers, but I don’t completely count out Alabama yet.

I guess they think Jayson Jones is still signing with us.
