Other kids mentioned in the article:

quote:

Quandarrius Robinson

Robinson has been good this season, and when I saw him play he flashed on a few plays, but it is hard seeing him as a five-star today based on this season's performance. Schools do run away from him at times, but he has to improve at the point of attack and he has to play the run better when he gets to the next level. The Alabama commit is long, he plays with energy and he can pressure the quarterback, so he will be fun to watch develop down the road in Tuscaloosa.

quote:

Phillip Webb

Webb continues to make plays. He just shows up play after play. He does his job, he plays his assignment, he plays within the defense and he shows up on a regular basis. In the game I saw him last month, he blocked a field goal, he almost blocked a punt, he had a couple tackles for loss, he made plays against the run and he played within the defense. He is a smart, not flashy, player that does his job. It is easy to see why Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Oklahoma and others continue to fight over him.

Q Robinson has been sidelined for weeks due to a high ankle sprain. But Rivals' Chad Simmons reports that his playing performance this season makes him unworthy of 5-star consideration.

Fact or Fiction: TEs Gilbert, Washington will end up in SEC

quote:

1. The two five-star tight ends, Arik Gilbert and Darnell Washington, will end up in the SEC.

Farrell’s take: FACT. The SEC gets stronger, as right now I see Gilbert heading to Alabama and Washington heading to Georgia. Clemson could pull the upset for Gilbert after a great visit, and Miami could be in there for Washington if he visits because of the Las Vegas connection, but Washington is either Georgia or Florida right now. These two athletic freaks will only make the SEC more dangerous.

Gorney’s take: FACT. I see both ending up in the SEC, although I’m never going to count out Clemson as the Tigers are making a late push for Gilbert and he seems to be listening. However, Alabama has turned almost its complete focus in landing Gilbert and the Crimson Tide probably lead in his recruitment. I wouldn’t completely count out Tennessee, either, for either one of them because the opportunity is massive there, but I’d predict Washington ends up at Georgia. Florida is moving up fast, though, because he had a great trip to Gainesville over the weekend.

Come on Saint, Gilbert is visiting LSU late so obviously he is going there, at least according to recruiting board logic.

One of the LSU posters started a thread about Kyle Edwards on the LSURb. One responder had this to say:

quote:

Watched him play at Walker a few weeks ago and not very impressive. Walker DL is horrible and he did not do much.

Well. That would appear to be inaccurate. Here were his stats from that game:

quote:

14 carries for 116 yards and two touchdowns in the first half alone of a 48-21 win at Walker.

fricking LSU fans.

Game video analysis: Jackson Bratton

If all goes well in recruiting, Jackson may be asked to greyshirt.

Too many more talented kids out there.

I highly doubt that. Bratton is an early enrollee and we need more ILB depth to be developed sooner rather than later. Here's a better option: Voluntary witdrawal replacement scholarship. Unlikely any commit will be asked to greyshirt.

Why would we ask a ILB and one of our first commits to wait. Not to mention he brings his hard hat every day.

We have asked plenty of early commits to delay entry . Someone can do the research but being an ILB I can see that being different

Jarez Parks is the only recent (2017) greyshirt. Nowadays Bama has enough departing players that the 85 limit isn't a problem (which is the only reason for grayshirting). Instead it's the annual 25 limit. Click on this link (which I also posted above) and you can learn what Bama is doing now to take more recruits beyond the 25 limit. That link is also at the bottom of the 2020, 2019 and 2018 recruiting class posts on this thread's first page.

But somebody likes his potential if he is a 4 star
