Quandarrius Robinson is going to fit into our defense like a fricking "T."

Alabama linebacker commit Quandarrius Robinson suffered an ankle injury a few weeks ago, Jackson-Olin coach Tim Vakakes said, and has since undergone surgery. It appears his season is finished, although he could return if Jackson-Olin secures a playoff berth.

Son of a bitch.

Dang it! Q Rob is the #37 ranked player, within striking distance of 5-star. Hopefully he can be back for playoffs and/or a national all-star game and still have a shot of getting bumped.

Alabama HS all-star roster features bevy of future Alabama and Auburn players (al.com)

Remember when Young committed and I said after watching King that Young would be #1 soon? Look at their stats so far this season:

I found this on the Georgia 247 board regarding Carson Beck:

quote:

Any thoughts on Carson Beck senior season? His stats haven't been great so far but wonder how he's looked as a prospect

Yeah, not a good start for Beck this year. So far he's 53-110 (48.2%), 686 yards, 6 TD, 8 INT, 26 rushes, for 67 yards, 3 TD in 5 games. We've noted in the past that Beck is an in-structure QB and I think you're seeing that some this season. Things are breaking down and he's having some trouble making plays on his own. Mandarin lost some experience from last year's state title team, but in watching video, Beck is pressing some and a lot of these negative plays are on him, so that's something he's going to need to get turned around. As a QB who is really a pocket passer, you'd like to see more accuracy (down from 58% last year) and decision-making since he's not one who's going to do a ton of damage with his feet or creativity. We'll see what happens the rest of the season, but history shows there to be a fairly strong tie to senior year production and how QB's fare in college and ultimately the NFL. Beck isn't the only one who has had some early season struggles, with Haynes King being another.

Ouch.

Elias Ricks and Jarret flipping to Bama would shut down the entire sire.

Xavier Hill de-committed:

NEW: 2020 OL Xavier Hill has backed off his pledge to #Bama and re-opened his recruitment. He has already visited two other SEC schools this fall and will visit another next week.

State of MS stuff. His stepdad wants him at Miss State provided we won't "play ball".

Hill backs off Alabama pledge (BamaOnLine)
quote:

Alabama is down to 22 commitments, as three-star guard  Xavier Hill has de-committed from the Crimson Tide, his coach confirms to BamaOnLine.

The Olive Branch (Miss.) product had joined UA's 2020 class in June following an official visit to campus, but had not been back to campus since that trip.

At 6-foot-3, 325 pounds, Hill is rated the No. 27 guard and the No. 459 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.

This story will be updated.

Best wishes to Xavier!

Except when we play Miss. St.

The receiver recruiting this year has been puzzling; but it could have a lot to do with the QB situation. We'll have damn near 350 targets vacated at the end of the season. Our lead receivers go in the first round. The Young commitment is going to have a quite the trickle down effect. There's a lot to sell right now. Come be the big receiver commit that's taking over for 3 first rounders and playing with the top QB in the class.

I don't want to guarantee a flip here- but I'd be pretty concerned as an LSU fan. There's a pretty rock solid recruiting pitch for that position right now at Alabama, one that is really irrefutable. Bama has a serious pipeline to that part of the country. I wouldn't bet against our staff getting the top guy on their board there, whomever that may be.
