I believe he was getting recruiting over at UGA. It's been known for a while that he was leaving their class.

Me neither, he was abused at the opening!

I just looked at his Hudl profile to see if he had some new film from this season.

He had ONE highlight from his first game. One. They showed it three times over the 30 second clip.

ETA: His second game highlight clip was of one play too.

Yeah, lol! Roy was definitely our number 1 , seems like that after 2 commits to the tigers is over, Burch is a long shot. So Mckinnley is the one to pair with Timmy Smith. Heck, Stackhouse I’d take over Burroughs.

Alabama DL target de-commits from Georgia (BamaOnLine)
quote:

Jamil Burroughs has reopened his recruitment. The 4-star defensive tackle from Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern announced his de-commitment from Georgia (via Twitter) on Friday morning.

Burroughs, a top Crimson Tide target, has been a frequent visitor in Tuscaloosa in 2019. In fact, the 6-foot-2, 330-pounder hasn't visited another school more than he has the Capstone this year.

“They’re big on my major, business and stuff, and education first,” Burroughs said in a recent interview about the Tide. “They really need me, you know what I’m saying? And they can develop me as a player and a person. One thing about it, they put football last until that time comes. They put education first.”

Burroughs is rated the No. 31 defensive tackle and the No. 326 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.

This story will be updated ...

4-star DT Jamil Burroughs 6-2/330 GA hudl

ETA: Hank (BOL) and Rusty (Dawgs247) CBd Burroughs to Bama.

We stopped recruiting him because Saban just didn't like him. It went well beyond the grades thing. Will be interesting to see if he matures in college

This has always been uga problem. They cant say no to a five star with issues, and those types cause all kinds of problems in the locker room, and overall culture of a program.

I heard a Bama coach said months ago that Evans was too immature to fit in at Bama. The last elite player that had sideline issues with their high school coach was Vandarious Cowan and we all know how that idiot panned out.

TIFWIW, the Georgia board is saying Burroughs has serious grade issues.

Please be true.

But we wanted Joseph for his on field abilities.

Burroughs? Not so much.

ETA: We, as in the esteemed members of this board, not the staff.

He was not. He is down the board a little bit according to those that I listen to (the usual ones that I mention often). McKinley Jackson is supposedly tops on the DT board. Timothy Smith was right there. Burch and some guy from Texas are very high on the DE board. There are a few other names. But Roy wasn't at the top of the board.

I know last year there would be a thread on high school games, but I saw Thompson beat Hoover pretty good tonight.

Robby Ashford got injured last night in Hoover's loss to Thompson.

Prayers for a speedy recovery.

Destrehan shows off explosive offense in season-opening win

quote:

Even with a new set of characters, the 2019 Destrehan offense showed it’s capable of scoring a bunch of points like the Wildcats of a year ago following a 38-16 home win over Bonnabel on Friday.

Kyle Edwards, now the featured running back, rushed for 84 yards on three carries. New starting quarterback Damaruis Jackson tossed for 64 yards and a touchdown. Razan Keller, another emerging running back, topped 100 yards rushing.

Destrehan scored on every possession in the opening half and led 38-0 at halftime.

The Wildcats needed less than a minute to score their first touchdown when Edwards, an Alabama commitment, raced 63 yards for a touchdown two plays into the game.

After a 34-yard field goal by Will Bryant gave Destrehan a 10-0 lead, Jackson connected with Ryan Walker for a 17-yard touchdown toss and a 17-0 first-quarter advantage.

The Wildcats defense got into the scoring act as well when Lynard Harris returned an interception by Bonnabel quarterback 35 yards for a touchdown and a 24-0 Destrehan lead.

frick, man. How is Edwards going to get a Bama bump if he only carries the ball 3 times a game?

At least he didn't start a fight with his coaches on the sidelines due to his lack of carries.

I've been keeping up with it, Clemson has an amazing class and UGA is going to have a great class. I like our class, I would like to add a few 5 stars to close the deal lol
