Definitely need one of the two. Gilbert or Washington. Happy with either, though I think Gilbert might be the better athlete,Washington has great size.
Both appear to be elite prospects but have you checked out Washington's measurables? Washington appears to be a rare athlete.

Id say Gilbert is the more fluid athlete from just looking at film and camp videos. I also woukd rather have the prospect from the south. Would be happy with either.

18. DT Jah-Marien Latham
Latham talks status with Alabama VIP By Hank South
Discussing his committment:
quote:
“I’m still pretty locked in,”
Despite taking visits elsewhere, including a trip to Ole Miss this past weekend, Latham remains firm with his commitment. really???
“It was always a dream to go there, so it’s hard to turn that down,” he said of UA.
“The only schools right now that I’m interested in are Alabama and Ole Miss,” Latham said. “Ole Miss, they’ve been contacting me a whole lot ever since the start of this year. Me and Coach Roach text almost every day. I went and watched them practice. I just love the atmosphere. It’s a cool vibe every time I go. They act like they really need me. That’s what I like about them.”
Latham says Alabama and Ole Miss are two official visits he plans to take.
The Tide commit ranks as the No. 25 defensive tackle and the No. 287 overall player in the country

Gilbert is the better athlete, but it's because he's a potential top 5 pick at DE out there playing TE/WR.
Washington has maxed out his upside, he's a jumbo WR that's a TE from college on. Questionable how much bigger he can get, as far as frame.

USC Elite Camp Top Performers
quote:
Approximately 60 of the region’s best players were coached up by the Trojans staff in a practice-like simulation Wednesday at the USC Elite Camp, which included a one-on-one period, skeleton drills and 11-on-11 team scrimmaging. Our team of USCFootball.com staffers filmed various positions during the camp and weigh in on the event's top performers.

HARBOR CITY (CALIF.) WIDE RECEIVER TRAESHON HOLDEN
It's not often an Alabama wide receiver commit shows up on the campus of a Pac-12 school for a camp, but Traeshon Holden is unique in many ways. Now living in Southern California and attending Narbonne High School, Holden has been to USC on unofficial visits numerous times over the last three months. But Wednesday was different for one main reason. Holden didn't just show up to hang out and talk football with the USC coaching staff with the camp as a backdrop for another visit. Holden came to compete despite being a four-star commit to Alabama, which says a lot about his mentality as a football player. Holden even got banged up when he was undercut by a defensive back on a route and landed awkwardly. At that point during drills, he could have understandably decided to take the rest of the day off. Instead, Holden was back out on the field two plays later intercepting a pass as a defensive back.

SANTA ANA (CALIF.) QUARTEBACK BRYCE YOUNG
Calm, cool and collected, five-star quarterback Bryce Young hardly needed to showcase his talent at Wednesday's camp, but he still took reps and still looked good. In these camp settings, Young's game is somewhat limited. His ability to create something out of nothing by extending the play with his feet is totally absent in this type of setting. Instead, Young used his ball placement on a couple of deep passes during 7-on-7 to emphasize why he much more than just a good athlete playing quarterback. Young is very nonchalant in the pocket, and because not every ball he throws is a fast ball, observers can sometimes come away questioning his arm strength. Simply put, Young throws a very well placed, catchable ball, which at the end of the day, is the point of playing quarterback.

Alabama zeroing in on Clemson for the No. 1 class in 2020

quote:
There’s been a lot of buzz this spring that Dabo Swinney and his staff were on track to sign 247Sports No. 1 recruiting class in 2020. Nick Saban and Alabama say not so fast.
There was talk Clemson could contend with the Florida 2010 class as the best one ever. Alabama is tracking that mark as well.
The Crimson Tide are gaining fast on the Tigers and history with the latest pledge coming from Quandarrius Robinson all but ensuring the SEC power will sign the country’s best linebacker haul this cycle. Robinson pulls the trigger two days after hard-hitting Demouy Kennedy joined the fold. Those two join elite Lone Star State standout Drew Sanders, making for three 247Sports Top100 Composite recruits that can run, strike and play several positions on the second level.
Currently sitting on 20 commits, the list of ballyhooed recruits considering a future in Tuscaloosa moving forward is extremely long as Saban and company chase their ninth top-ranked recruiting class in the last 10 years.
Who’s next? Another Top100 recruit in Hampton (Ga.) Dutchtown’s defensive end Will Anderson is trending heavily to the Tide following his recent visit to campus.
Beyond Anderson, the 247Sports Composite's top-ranked running back Zachary Evans is looking strongly at Alabama alongside Georgia and LSU. As of today the smart money seems to be on the Tide with Evans ultimately joining his Houston (Texas) North Shore teammate and another recent verbal in Damieon George.
Those two alone in Anderson and the five-star Evans would boost Alabama past Clemson in the 247Sports Rankings. Obviously the Tigers aren’t done with prospects like five-star Jordan Burch, Top247 receivers E.J. Williams and Xzavier Henderson still in play but Saban and his staff look to be in the thick of it for more high-profile talents than their College Football Playoff rival.
The nation’s No. 1 athlete Darnell Washington out of Las Vegas (Nev.) Desert Pines could certainly end up in this Alabama class. They’re in the thick of it for four more terrific linebackers in five-stars Justin Flowe and Sav'ell Smalls along with 247Sports Composite Top50 recruits Phillip Webb (also looking at Clemson) and Noah Sewell.
Others on the official visit list moving forward include five-star running back Kendall Milton, five-star tight end Arik Gilbert and the top-ranked offensive guard in the country Justin Rogers who is committed to Kentucky and could also play defensive line.
Top247 recruits in Jacobian Guillory, Reggie Grimes, Omari Thomas, Henderson and Top247 cornerback Ethan Pouncey are a few other very notable names that have Alabama at the top or near the top of their lists. We could reel off more names like defensive end Zykeivous Walker or offensive lineman Chris Morris. Then there’s top-ranked dual-threat quarterback Bryce Young who’s been committed to local USC since last July but maintains a relationship with the Tide.
The battle for No. 1 isn’t a forgone conclusion anymore as Saban is tracking perhaps his highest-rated recruiting class ever as well.

Three-Point Stance: Commit recap, 1-2 punches, top classes
quote:
Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell’s Three-Point Stance is here with thoughts on the some recent commitments, some great 1-2 punches in 2020 and the top quality classes.
Posted on 6/13/19 at 9:35 am to TideSaint
quote:
1. THOUGHTS ON RECENT POWER FIVE COMMITMENTS
There have been many big commitments recently and here are my thoughts on some of the most important.
DE Kyle Kennard, Georgia Tech – Kennard is a long, skinny pass rusher and another very solid addition to a Georgia Tech class, which has been one of the surprises of the cycle.
LB D’Eryk Jackson, Kentucky – A big thumper at linebacker, Jackson is a nice get from Georgia, which has become an important state for Kentucky.
OT Grant Jackson, Mississippi State – Jackson is a tall offensive tackle with plenty of room to fill out. He still looks a bit thin at 304 pounds. Jackson has a very high ceiling.
LB Quandarrius Robinson, Alabama – The top player in the state of Alabama is a long, athletic linebacker who could be a hybrid and covers a ton of ground.
DE Austin Collins, Louisville – Collins is a nice in-state get who is a powerful kid who could grow into a defensive tackle down the line.
OT Robert Scott, Ole Miss – Scott is a very athletic and long offensive tackle who is the top player in Arkansas. This is a good steal for the Rebels.
OG Jason Brooks, Vanderbilt – Brooks is a powerful interior lineman and an excellent run blocker. A good addition from Texas, which has been kind to Vandy in recent years.
OT Joshua Braun, Georgia – Braun is a massive offensive tackle and a big-time get from Florida as Georgia continues to recruit as well as anyone in the country at offensive line.
WR Joey Hobert, Washington State – A steady and sneaky powerful slot receiver who could put up huge numbers in the Washington State offense.
CB Clarence Lewis, Notre Dame – A tall cornerback who is physical and could end up being a safety before long. If he develops as a corner, he has a chance to be special.
S Jared Greenfield, Oregon – Has good length at safety and solid coverage skills and has a good frame to add a bunch of weight and get stronger.
LB Nick Herbig, Wisconsin – Herbig is an athletic linebacker who covers a lot of ground and is really solid in pass coverage. He’s also very good off the edge as a blitzer.
DE Ali Gaye, LSU – A raw rush end who has physical skills and could contribute early as a JUCO commitment.
OG Tate Johnson, Auburn -- A physical get from Georgia, Johnson is a nasty kid who is a fighter in the trenches and an excellent run blocker. He has played tackle and could even be a center.
DE Jah Joyner, Boston College – A raw but athletic player who can play on either side of the ball but has more natural skills at defensive end.
OT Grant Toutant, Ohio State – A nice flip from Penn State, Toutant is an excellent run blocker who has the raw skills to be a tackle at the next level or move inside.
TE Matt Hibner, Michigan – Hibner has good hands and is adjusting well to adding 40 pounds of muscle since his junior year. He’s a good flex tight end but could grow into an inside blocker as he adds weight.
RB Seth McGowan, Oklahoma – A power runner, McGowan is a bit upright but everyone still has trouble tackling him and he can run inside or outside.
LB Latrell McCutchin, Alabama (2021) – A tall, athletic cornerback who is very smooth and covers receivers with effortless technique. He’s the top cornerback in Texas for 2021.
RB Jackson Acker, Wisconsin (2021) – A tall running back who could also play other positions, he’s a physical kid who will pound people on either side of the ball.
WR Quaydarius Davis, Texas (2021) – The top wide receiver in the state of Texas for 2021, Davis has good size and can get downfield. He’s a dynamic prospect.
ATH Lovie Jenkins, Tennessee — A versatile defender who can play corner or safety and will bring speed to the secondary.
No Demouy Kennedy?

2. GREAT 1-2 COMMITMENT PUNCHES IN THE 2020 CLASS
Oklahoma just landed another four-star running back in Seth McGowan from Texas, who joins Jase McClellan to form a great 1-2 punch at the position for 2020. Here are some other excellent 1-2 punches so far from some top programs
QB Max Johnson and TJ Finley, LSU – This is the best 1-2 punch at quarterback in the nation. Both have excellent upside and bring different traits to the table.
QB Hudson Card and Ja’Quinden Jackson, Texas – I like Card and Jackson quite a bit and both are just starting to reach their ceiling and are a good fit for the Texas offense. Jackson could play other positions if needed.
WR Thaiu Jones-Bell and Javon Baker, Alabama – Jones-Bell could be the next great South Florida wide receiver at Alabama and Baker is a great get from Georgia with solid size. The Crimson Tide have four elite wide receivers in this class, but these two stand out to me the most.
WR Julian Fleming and Gee Scott Jr., Ohio State – It’s a great trio at Ohio State, but Fleming and Scott have the most upside right now. However, keep an eye out for Jaxon Smith-Njigba as well, he’s very very good.
WR Demond Demas and Troy Omeire, Texas A&M – Like Ohio State, Texas A&M has three elite wide receivers if you add in Muhsin Muhammad but I like Demas a ton and Omeire has tremendous potential as a big receiver.
TE Michael Mayer and Kevin Bauman, Notre Dame – It’s no surprise that Notre Dame is recruiting well at tight end and Mayer and Bauman are big targets who will fill out.
OL Tate Ratledge and Broderick Jones, Georgia – Georgia recruits as well as anyone at offensive line and Ratledge and Jones have the highest ceilings.
OL Walker Parks and Mitchell Mayes, Clemson – Clemson has a great offensive line class but Parks and Mayes really stand out to me as elite athletes at their positions.
DT Bryan Bresee and DE Myles Murphy, Clemson – OK, one is a defensive tackle and one is a defensive end but Bresee could play end or tackle and these are two top-10, national elite talents.
DT Justin Rogers and Lamar Goods, Kentucky – Rogers is one of the biggest commits in Kentucky history but Goods is no slouch and these two could be a dominant duo down the line in the SEC.
LB Quandarrius Robinson and Chris Braswell, Alabama – Robinson and Braswell both have length and the ability to play standing up or moving to a hybrid role. They are both elite athletes.
LB Antoine Sampah and Josh White, LSU – Sampah covers a lot of ground and is a hitter and I love the strides White is making in his game as his ceiling could be just as high.
DB Avantae Williams and Luke Hill, Oregon – Williams is a great athlete and dynamic playmaker while Hill is technically sound and likes to hit.
DB Art Green and Antonio Johnson, Tennessee – Green has developed so much at JUCO that he should be an early impact guy and Johnson is long and athletic and a great get from Illinois.
DB Fred Davis and RJ Mickens, Clemson – Davis is an elite corner with length and speed and Mickens is a terror at safety.

LSU commitment considering Alabama
Kayshon Boutte, Rivals100 wide receiver from Westgate High School in New Iberia, Louisiana, took a trip to Tuscaloosa two weekends ago to participate in Alabama's first camp of the summer. He talked about his experience with the Crimson Tide.
Alabama an early leader for in-state defensive back
Three-star safety Mike Harris received a glimpse of what life as an Alabama player could be like over the weekend as he took part in the Crimson Tide’s camp. The Phenix City, Ala., native picked up an offer from Alabama during an unofficial visit in March. During his return trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala., he was able to further take in the campus while also going through workouts with Nick Saban and defensive back coaches Karl Scott and Charles Kelly.
Kennedy and Robinson are double trouble
Demouy Kennedy was once committed to Auburn.Quindarrius Robinson was, too. Now, both highly ranked in-state linebackers are committed to Alabama. Both committed in person too, and they somewhat surprised the crowd with the timing of their commitments. Most thought Robinson was an Alabama lean, but Kennedy went into camp Saturday with LSU on top of his list. Getting Kennedy on campus Saturday, then Robinson in town Tuesday led to each making their decisions.

Five-star running back Kendall Milton has just set up an official visit to Alabama.
New FutureCast in for Tide
Nugget from Sam Spiegelman: I entered a new FutureCast pick in for Alabama to land four-star Destrehan (La.) RB Kyle Edwards. This is an interesting situation and still very fluid, so allow me to explain.

Washington has maxed out his upside
If you're talking pure physical upside, maybe he's closer to maxing out than Gilbert. If you're talking about overall football upside, he has a TON of upside. He is pretty raw as a route runner still.
They don't make them like Washington. A legit 6'7 1/2" 255 with an absurd wingspan that can run and jump like he can. He's potentially a generational physical talent.
