What an impressive win for Alabama over Virginia Tech. When the Crimson Tide get that type of production from John Petty, they are hard to beat. Love the way Villanova has been playing, but hard to count out a team with Collin Sexton on the floor. #MarchMadness

Saw somewhere that Zona will only have 5-6 returning scholarship players and don’t currently have anyone committed? Is that true?

True story. All the kids that were committed backed out when the FBI story broke. Unless someone has committed/recommitted they have zero kids coming in.

I don’t follow Arizona’s program close enough to have known that, but I do know that having players declare for the NBA like 4 minutes after getting blown out is funny.

I mean, I get your point but the media is overplaying this. They asked the guys a question that was already answered publicly

They may also have some of those kids transfer too

Zona should be fine. Their program prestige should be able to snag some low 4* type guys from AZ/CA who'd otherwise be low/middle tier P5 type recruits. They also aren't completely out of it for some kids, as some have talked about keeping them in the picture too.

Sean Miller should honestly skip town to his alma mater Pitt. Claim "it was right to go back home" or some BS. Staying at Zona is bad for Miller and bad for Zona

If we play like we did tonight, I think we can beat anyone

If we play like we did in the 1st half, we'll be down 20 at halftime against Villanova.

You're a moron.

You proved that I do criticize the players and coaches and I'm not a sunshine pumper.

Thanks for defending me in any future conversation where anyone says I am not critical or that I blindly support like a sunshine pumper.

What you can't show is me turning on the team, posting "NIT NIT NIT", giving up on the team or saying we should fire Avery.

Thanks for the future help dummy.

if we lose to Nova we can blame the late season slump. Should we have not lost those 5 in a row we would have been a higher seed, thus not having to play a number 1 seed in the first round.

I am thrilled Bama won but the players and the coaches are being credited for and should also take the blame for the fact we were not lower then an 8/9 seed. I would have rather been a 10 then have to play Nova in round 2. What would our seeding have been should we have won 2 out of the 5 we lost?

the 5 teams we lost to late are probably better than us.

Quit crying about the losses. Enjoy the ride.

Yea i'm just making a statement too.

You are crying about why we are going to lose tomorrow. Let's play the game first. Every team but 4 (the #1's) can whine about losses and better seeding.

I wonder if Galin has been better than Giddens all along and we just didn’t know it

The best part about the final four run is it getting easier after tomorrow.

Yeah, provided we would've made it to the second round had we been a 10 seed...I'm just thrilled we made the tourney and won a game...that's huge considering where our program has been...

The only Elite 8 run we ever made was as an 8/9 seed...while I don't think we beat Nova, if we can just play well against 'em, it should give Bama b-ball some good exposure...

We lost to 5 NCAAT teams in that stretch, 2 making an Elite 8 run just last season (UF & UK). Youth, inexperience, and injuries didn't help as well. We could play "woulda, shoulda, or coulda's" all day but in the end, we have to play the hand we were dealt.
The 1/9 matchup can be tricky for a Top seed simply because they can get caught looking past the lower seed and ahead toward a West Virginia or Wichita State matchup in the Sweet 16. Just look at Arizona last night. See what distractions and looking ahead can do for you. I would bet that Miller and 'Zona were already looking ahead to that 2nd round game with UK and Buffalo curb stomped that arse!!
IF we had won 2 of those 5 during that stretch, we MIGHT have been a 6 or 7 seed, but an earlier exit in the SEC tourney may have possibly put us in the same position, back in the 9 slot.
Be happy! Enjoy the ride and look forward to the future. Minus Sexton and possibly Norris and Davis, CAJ will add some really good talent to this group and likely perform better and more consistent next season.
