Nice work by LSU/State last night, 2-0 in the postseason.

LSU Coach trying to start some shite in the NIT is hilarious.

What? Rest is literally the only thing that can get you to the other side of the concussion protocol.

Wiseman is actually from Nashville and hasn't even played for Team Penny for most of his AAU career.

Penny will improve recruiting at Memphis, but do you seriously see no way Cal beats him for guys? We're talking about maybe the best recruiter ever.

Jesus Christ, folks. My point is that excitement is fine and they should be excited. I've said that in the thread.

quote:

put all the bullshite aside for a moment and remember that these are roughly 18-20 year old kids that achieved one of their bigger goals of the season.

Yea, if only I said something like "in typical Freshman fashion". That would have helped folks understand that these kids are in fact....young.

Is reaching the tournament a big deal? Yea. Should it be considered a huge deal for the program? No. It should be something that is a yearly process for this program. There are 68 other teams. We should be a top 68 team. Avery is in the top #15 paid coach, this is a top 5 recruiting class.

I get it's been awhile since we've been there and folks are more excited.

Also, I personally think you have to be able to manage emotions and expectations amongst young folks. It's what makes the great coaches great. I don't think that has been accomplished and it's hard to do. This team hasn't been locked in for multiple games. We've had 85-90% of our team ejected in a game due to emotion. Petty's FG% changes by 30% pending where he is playing, etc.

If you look a lot of the blue blood programs instagram (for example), there isn't a ton of reaction from the players. Does cheering and stuff happen, yep. Take a look at UNCs reaction compared to Duke, Arizona, Kansas, etc.

It's just my belief. Doesn't mean I don't hate the team, etc. I'm sorry that my opinion isn't sunshine and rainbows.

Either way, it's not a big deal, just something I noticed. Today is gameday and I hope we destroy VTech tonight.

ETA: The original post was about hoping the team was locked in mentally and focused. Everyone seemed to turn that into me bitching about the team celebrating. The point went over folks heads.

If you could pick one guy that would have the most benefit to the team if he stepped up big in the tourney, who would it be?

Braxton Key. Last year we relied on him so much to do so many things, and he didn't do terribly. This year he just hasn't found his way. If he could play confident, it would give us a true second option that can score inside and out.

You're probably right, but I just don't think it's a realistic hope. Petty would be my pick because if he can step up offensively, so much more of our offense will come into play...we'd be a real nightmare to defend.

Apparently Buzz Williams thinks they have no chance to win at all.

We are 3-0 vs the teams playing now.

we took 54 charges this year, impressive
jones 21
key 12
ingram 10
hall 3
norris 3
smith 3
sexton 2

I wouldn't have thought Key was 2nd on that list.

I don't want to bog down the thread with this conversation, especially since we have a game today, but I will just say this and then let it go.

You comparing Alabama basketball's reaction to making the tournament to UNC, Duke, Arizona and/or Kansas is just as laughable as if you compared any of their football program's to Alabama.

This is the 29th consecutive year that Kansas has made the tournament, meanwhile this our second appearance in 12 years.

The point didn't go over anyone's head. Your point was poorly made. Then you blame us for your shitty argument. That sounds like what a dumb woman would do.

SEC 3-0 in the postseason.

Nice win by the Vols.

so the OT game moved the Duke game back. I wonder if that will impact our starting time?
