Before the season started I would've been let down if you would've told me with Sexton and Petty that we'd be 17-11 and 8-7 in the SEC. I'd like to think most in here would agree.
We've had injuries but it's nothing like in football where guys were falling left and right and were out for weeks. Riley Norris would've contributed but I doubt he would've been the difference maker we need at this point in the season.

I don't think we were really the eighth best class either. Our average rating on 247 was 92 something I think. If we'd only had 3 spots to fill we would've finished lower.
They added a damn good grad transfer too, but I've done enough defending our team. That performance last night was still unacceptable shite.

Yea - I'm not saying I'm jumping for joy right now, but I will say if we win the next 2, lose at A&M and win 1 in St Louis I'll feel like this season was a success. It won't be on the list of greatest seasons in program history, but it will be a solid first step. Then, we will have to build on it.
However, if we lose 2 of the next 3.............

Hahahaha I know - I feel like I've done this after a couple of our recent losses and I finish it feeling angry at myself.

Anyone else see that UF is a 7-seed for Lunardi? Not sure of the logic behind that. We have the same record, much better wins, the same bad losses (@OM and @Vandy) and sit 34 spots higher in the RPI (RPI 64 compared to our 30). Very head-scratching to say the least.

Bird, if we get your stadium of choice, the greed of the University will send ticket prices soaring to make up for the reduced volume. Supply and demand. I still enjoy going to the occasional game. Former season tix holder.

This is a real possibility. We should take care of Arkansas but again, a hot night for them and we're in trouble.
This season is much closer to being a failure than it is to being a success. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer but based on the past I could see us losing to Florida or Arkansas and having to make a run in the conference tournament. I'm putting zero confidence in us winning in College Station.

The whole Florida being a solid in on everyone's bracket is a head scratcher. A&M at least has a really high RPI (Top 30). Florida's RPI is 64! Mississippi State is 63.
Their Q1 record is 6-5 and their Q2 is 5-6. I just don't really get it.

Yea I don't have any expectations, but I'm going to hold off my melt until they actual blow one of them.

We're likely looking at five "sellouts". If they would want to make up for the total difference going to a 12k capacity, they would need to increase ticket prices for those games by 20%. Plus, I'd love to increase the price of season tickets a little to provide more motivation for people to sell them or give them away if they can't make the game.

My entire melt last night was because of the effort and performance. It had nothing to do with Auburn or losing. We half assed it and then Sexton basically confirmed it after the game. (Not blaming Sexton for last night). And Avery just made it so much worse with his comments. Still pisses me off

Yea, I'm right there with you on all of those.

Not sure how this team could half arse it against au but they did.
There is a attitude problem on this team.

Why do you say that? I think there's maybe a lack of urgency at times, and I think a few players get really discouraged when things aren't going their way. But overall, I think the team's attitude is fine.
And up until last night, I still think this team had been playing it's best basketball of the season. Even the Kentucky game was mostly fine. Do better on the boards, and we likely win that game. And they've usually responded well the first game after a bad outing, so let's see how they do Saturday before writing them off.

If Avery doesn't get the Ala Auburn rivalry then someone needs to sit down with him and explain it. Maybe bring Wimp in to address the team and coaches. He dang sure gets it. Sexton looked like he was scared to death to start the game. And Petty too. Our big men were totally worthless last night. If we play Auburn again in the SEC tournament, I wouldn't even put Giddens in the game. What a joke. Other than Sexton, Ingram, Avery Jr, and Reese the rest of them were horrible. I doubt there was a player on the team that graded out a winner. None of our guards could match up with Auburn pt guard. Anytime he wanted to, he could drive to the basket, pass to the right corner, then they make 2 passes on that side for a wide freaken open 3. Happened over and over and over. Their point guard went through our defense like a hot knife through butter. Or he would just hit a 3 point shot if he wanted to do something different. The problem with our bigs, even if they were 8 inches taller than the defender, they still cant post up and make a shot. No offensive skills to do that. So why even put giddens on the court? He is too slow to match up with the Auburn players. We just looked and played scared. But they can go back home and get their cute little hair dos. They will look pretty till the game starts.

Bama is a better team than UF, but UF has a better resume of W/Ls
Not sure how you'd try to argue otherwise. UF has better wins (neutral v Cincy/Gonzaga) and have done it on the road too (@UK, @Mizz @TAMU). Bama also has more Ls to non tourney teams and the NCAAT team Ls are to lower seeds typically
