Schlabach is a shite reporter and has a weird love fest w Auburn gossip that he never fact checks. He regularly amends/alters articles and like a douche doesn't leave editors notes
You probably only read his articles when they are about AU, but I doubt he has a "weird love fest w Auburn". He's a reporter covering college sports and living in the south. He goes where story takes him and/or where assignment editor sends him to cover.
His sources on something like this would have to be from inside AU, or his editor wouldn't let him publish. And if he "regularly amends/alters articles" then he will likely be part of the layoffs later this month bc that would impact the credibility of his employer and they'll rectify the situation and AU won't have to worry about his obsession any longer.
Either way, what's most likely is he has sources inside AU who are feeding him a narrative they want out.
If I'm not mistaken, that's the AU AD, basketball coach, baseball coach, softball coach, and possibly with 2 more losses football coach all gone within past 2 years. That's stellar leadership within AU. Maybe it's not schlabauch that's your problem.

the barn athletic dept is leaking this stuff, and they also let the words "be fired" be used in their leak. Maybe to force him to cooperate. Word is that his lawyer has told him not to cooperate as long as their is an fbi investigation on going.

Hell yeah, his lawyer told him to clam up. If he has to answer questions from the FBI, he doesn’t want another deposition out there with a different story in it. Pearl is not going to cooperate with Auburn and that’s all there is to it. They can saber rattle all they want to, it won’t make a difference. Either fire him and move on or shut up and wait for the Feds investigation to occur. That’s Auburn’s choices.

It's been confirmed by Mark Giannotto......COLLIN SEXTON IS WITH THE TEAM

Anyone else thinking that as things stand we should start both centers, Herb, Petty, and Dazon? You could expect most of those guys to get double digits and we’d dominate the rebounding. We would have very little to provide spark off the bench though. If we could win an ugly game vs. Memphis hopefully we could take care of the next 3 at home and get Norris and Armond back

I think we're going to see a lot of that, whether they start or not, as long as we're without Norris, Armond, and Sexton.

He has an actual tweet out there saying that writing Auburn gossip is good for views so he does as much as he can
Auburn AD is a pile of shite. Schlabach just does a shite job reporting on it.

The key risk there is foul trouble. Giddens while at OSU was a foul machine. Running big men for extended minutes increases sloppy foul chances + may be forced to if either gets early fouls
I know y'all will hate it but your best bet is Avery Jr, Dazon, Petty, Herb, Hall/Giddens
Don't let Jr shoot and To close out the game take out Jr and run both Hall/Giddens fresh

I think we'll also see a lot of Jr, Dazon, Petty, Galin, Hall/Giddens. Galin has looked pretty good so far.

This must be from today or yesterday
Giddens looks like a bad man

I posted this a while back, but it got lost in the Pearl story. Memphis in their scrimmage started like this
PG Jeremiah Martin/6'3"/184 JR
SG Kareem Brewton/6'2"/189 JR
SF Jimario Rivers/6'8"/194 SR
PF Kyvon Davenport/6'8"/211 JR
C Mike Parks/6'8"/260 JR
Davenport is their best scorer (he's a juco, so we don't really know yet) it sounds like, and he's going to be too strong for Herb imo. We'll want two bigs out there because of that.
They could also play smaller with Jamal Johnson (a guard) replacing Parks. In that case we'll see one big man.
If we start one big, Memphis will be bigger than us at 3 of 5 positions. I don't think Avery will want that.

I'm more worried about the wings getting into foul trouble. We have four active big men to play the 4 or 5. We only have four active scholarship guys can play 1-3.
With one big starting, we don't have a single scholarship guard of small forward on the bench.

I doubt that. Davenport is a big that can score inside and while Herb Jones is a great on-ball defender, he would get brutalized in the post. I think we'll see that against smaller lineups if we don't get Sexton, Norris or Braxton back soon, but I think it would be a mistake tomorrow. It really hurts not having Key for this one given the match up.
My guess is we start with Ingram, Petty, Jones, Reese, and Hall, but we'll see a lot of Hall and Giddens out there if they stay out of foul trouble.
And as Tom mentioned, we only have 4 active scholarship players for 1-3 with Sexton, Norris, Key and Davis out.

What is so hard to understand about not commenting on something that you should not be commenting on?
It seems pretty obvious that he was told to not comment on Collin Sexton until there is something concrete to say in regards to his eligibility or participation with the team.
What good does it do anyone to announce whether or not Sexton is playing or even traveling with the team? The people that need to know all the details are the only people that know all the details and that’s exactly how it should be.
Avery isn’t paid to coddle the fan base and make sure we are all up to speed on the inner workings of the entire program. He’s paid to lead this program in a professional manner and to win basketball games. Everything he’s done relative to this situation is exactly that.

While probably true, there are things in his story that are either clearly incorrect or he's not bright enough to see he is missing an even bigger scoop.
His article says AU can't complete their internal investigation because the FBI seized Pearl's computer and phone. The FBI didn't just walk in and seize his phone and computer. There are only two ways they have those devices.
The first is if Auburn/Pearl gave them consent to search those items. If that were the case, Auburn should have imaged them before turning them over if they turned them over at all. More typically, if you're nice and consent the LE agency will come in and image the devices on site so they don't have to take them.
The second way they'd have the devices is if they executed a search warrant - and a search warrant involving Pearl would be a massive story because that would mean the FBI could articulate probable cause that the devices contained evidence of a crime. I've got a hard time believing they executed a search warrant. It only took a few hours before the subpoena to Auburn got leaked. FBI agents showing up with a search warrant would have been out before they had time to complete the property receipts.
That doesn't make the general tone of his story incorrect, but it does make me think he put little to no effort into verifying whatever he was being fed.
