But for the record, who the hell does Bone think we land for there to be no room for Bell and Poggi?

He basically has us missing on most of our remaining targets.

Liner, Kamara, Reed, and maybe Vanderdoes. Could expand if another player is asked to delay enrollment, but that's speculation. If no Reed, Vanderdoes, or Robinson, then Poggi can commit freely.

The situation is posed that all the top targets want to commit, but considers it unlikely as the staff probably knows the temperature of the room.

Nuggets are up:

-5 spots available (Liner is one for sure)
-Vanderdoes is coming with his father and grandfather (father is key in his recruitment, not his mother)
-Robinson's mother is on board if A'Shawn decides to come (Texas staff is worried)and he has work to do in the classroom
-Richt has his in home with Kamara this week (they are pushing hard) though Bama probably gets him
-Reed is visiting Ole Miss this weekend
-Again, no one knows what the frick Rueben Foster is going to do
-Too tough to call on Tony Conner. Could go either way between Ole Miss and Bama.
-Tunsil is torn between Georgia (heart) and Bama (head)
-Vonn Bell isn't out of the picture.
-Tyren Jones is solid

So basically no word on what Tenpenny is going to do. I guess that's good news.

Also no word on how Saban's in-home with Matthew Thomas went.

Pretty big disparity between the Rivals guys (not just Bone) and the 247 guys with respect to our chances with remaining targets. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out on NSD

Rivals is horrible though. They lost all their top guys to 247.

These two things are related, IMO... We already know that Derrick Henry and Alvin Kamara don't care. Apparently Coach Saban and Coach Burns wanted to be sure Tyren was cool with them possibly taking 4 backs, even though he never indicated that he cared one way or another. The one guy that never seems to get mentioned is Tenpenny.

It almost seems like they are giving him significant space to make his decision without pressure from Bama. If he comes, then obviously we would be ecstatic, but if he flips, then good luck/we understand. That's been my feeling all along, and it seems to be the way it is playing out.

It'll be nice to land Liner and Kamara, but I feel like we've missed on many big fish this year. I know it's unrealistic to expect a team of five stars, but it'd be nice to land a top edge rusher like Clowney or Nkimdiche just once. It'd be nice to see our defense with an elite pass rusher.

Saban's in home with Matthew Thomas didn't happen. The BOL guys think it was cancelled due to bad weather.

Great players. But this class had so much hope in the spring of last year. Everyone had Nkimdiche as Bama's to lose.

It happens every year. Don't get too invested in individual recruits and don't believe it when everyone claims that a particular recruit is a lock. Otherwise, you spend more time being disappointed in the players you don't get than being happy with the ones you do get.

dont really get the attitude that we dont have an elite pass rusher in this class. jonathan allen is as elite as they come and is a straight up freak. 6'3" 260 and runs a 4.5. you dont get a better physical specimen than that. he is every bit as impressive to me as nkemdiche

I realize he is a hot croot an all..I saw the last two games between S. Panola and Hoover and Hoover made them look like a runt of a HS compared to what we have in Alabama, and S Panola is hot stuff in Miss. I was not overly impressed with any of the S. Panola players. I guess Conner was their best.

The last two years have been some of the worst South Panola teams in the past 20 years.

Hoover didn't want anything to do with at South Panola team from 2010. They would have beat them by 30.

Alabama hs football >>>>>>>>MS hs football. But Conner is legit. I think a lot of Alabama 3a schools could beat a lot of MS 5a schools. Bad coaching and development in this state
