Really wish we could get this kid to flip. He looks like a NFL D-Lineman already. Huge potential.

Staff still feels EXTREMELY confident in landing Tony Conner. It will be a huge pull out of SP but keep in mind Bama has some serious things working in their favor with this situation, the fact that one of the biggest recruits to come out of SP in the last decade was at this same crossroad & chose the in-state school and it failed him miserably, he is re-enrolling this year but only because it's pretty much his only option. Also the current staff at SPHS has much LESS Ole Miss influence, this still could fall Ole Miss' way, but I was told his announcement at the UA game that he delayed would've been to Bama and Ole Miss staff was scrambling the week leading up to hold him off to get another chance. Ole Miss has gained ground on Conner, but it's looking good but Bama staff will roll out the red carpet for his visit.
Bell's parents not visiting tOSU is good for Bama, this situation is def 50/50 right now. It is MY PERSONAL OPINION that in the end tOSU will fall to get him because of distance, & this little snag this weekend for his parents further solidifies my belief, but this one is going down to the wire.
The Chris Jones situation is extremely rare, but I will admit that he is an absolute monster pass rusher the mold of Hubbard, but much more technique savy, I had a good friend who has coached in the south (HS) a LOOONG time, he played at Bama you guys would know his name, tell me on film he reminded him of Julius Peppers a little bit as an athletic monster, also compared him to watching Reggie White play in HS, now those are 2 very lofty comparisons particularly the latter, but that is how good his potential is. The situation is so rare for the simple fact that his HS staff hasn't ever encountered talent like his, hence the meteoric rise quickly after a commitment, but the HS staff has strong MSU ties, which is the reason why he has sort of been under the radar. Chris' dad likes MSU, but would like Chris to explore all his options even to the point of reaching out to a few other SEC staffs (since it is obvious the HS staff doesn't want him going elsewhere or getting more attention which will bring courtship from other schools). Bama's staff gets the feeling that if they really push him we could have a shot at flipping him, but dealing with that HS staff is proving itself to be tough so far since his rise

With Vanderdoes, just like the situation with tOSU being too far with Vonn Bell, it is MY PERSONAL OPINION that Alabama is too far, but I will say that he has a really good relationship with Coach Rumph & Coach Smart, & like it has been mentioned elsewhere, if U$Cw fires Orgeron, Bama's chances go up dramatically
Also TBH I feel like staff likes him a little better in our scheme than Robinson (not sure why other than they feel Eddie is more nimble and less a 1-gap & more versatile) but we are geeting good vibes from A'Shawn & a push for him could def make things interesting, needless to say the staff is planning on loading up on DT's in this class like they did LB's last class, Dee Liner, Paige & 1 of Eddie V or A'Shawn would be a TREMENDOUS haul

Any idea on who this weekend's "off the record" recruit is? I know the question doesn't sound right, but speculation seems to indicate it's a big name.

How many spots do we have left? There is going to be some ultra talented players left out, meanwhile parker mc has moved into his dorm already

Just recently starting watching Vanderdoes and I'm on the train now. To me our best finish (which is ever changing) would be Tunsil, Liner, Bell, Conner, Vanderdoes, and Reub Foster/Adams (not likely I guess)/ Kamara

Poggi or Liner, seems like all paid sites etc have been basically told "shut the hell up" about Poggi since every time someone asks Bone he ignores the question
& Liner is obvious, but he also said he would visit both Bama & AU as well as Miami next WE a couple weeks ago just didn't specify a time for either
Poggi is still "committed" to Michigan & they have a strict you shop we pull offer guideline

Vid was a bit shaky to me (but I'm ultra critical on DL TBH) but he showed me A WHOLE LOT MORE at the Army AA Game against much better competition

Well Rise, when you tell David Dawson a top 5 arguably OT to take a hike we don't have room, that is when you know we are holding for the absolute best needs etc
Staff is working much more dilligently this year & being much more stern about spots etc so that we won't have a repeat of last year. It is important to remember that this 25 rule was just implemented so it is still a learning process for everyone on following these new idiotic mandates

Much like Hightower started early on he is extremely versatile, so he will be taught the ILB position & has a chance to make an early impact but he will start inside & see how he does in different packages rushing etc, he is a GREAT pass rusher, but more than that he is a versatile awesome skill set LB

By my count... with the seniors and Lacy/Fluker/Milliner leaving, then bringing in 25 would put us at 93 schollys (assuming Foster and Mandell are not on scholarship).
So we would have to have 8 folks move on to fit in a full class.

I would think Foster is in on scholly. At least I haven't heard anything about him being taken off scholly.
