Five-star athlete Derrick Henry, a star running back out of Yulee, Florida, will take his official visit to Alabama this weekend, with the UA staff set to roll out the red carpet for the elite offensive playmaker. Henry visited Tennessee last week and while he came away impressed, it wasn't enough to unseat the Tide as his current favorite.
"Alabama has been his leader for the last few months and he restated that this weekend after official visit to Knoxville," said BamaOnline recruiting analyst Tim Watts. "Georgia is also trying to hang around in the picture but it looks to be a Tide-Vol battle with Alabama currently on top."
Henry is slated to be the Tide's sole official visitor this weekend but Alabama will also be welcoming several unofficial visitors on campus, including a number of the Tide's top junior targets.
"Other than Henry, there’s not a huge list of visitors expected with Auburn and Florida State having two of their bigger visitor weeks," said Watts. "A few 2014 prospects are scheduled to be there including Georgia commit Stanley Williams and linebacker Dillon Bates of Ponte Vedra (Fla.), and Mortimer Jordan junior quarterback Devlin Hodges."
A number of Alabama's current commits are also expected to be in attendance, giving Alabama a few more recruiters in the stands to aid their cause.
"As usual, look for several Crimson Tide commitments to be in attendance," said Watts. "2014 five-star Bo Scarbrough along with 2013 pledges Walker Jones, Parker McLeod, and Bradley Bozeman have all confirmed they are attending."

Alabama is scheduled to host running back Derrick Henry of Yulee (Fla.) High this weekend, and he could be arriving in Tuscaloosa with a Florida state high school record.
According to the Florida Times-Union, Henry has 8,753 career yards, which is just 52 behind the total of 8,804 in which Emmitt Smith compiled at Escambia High in Pensacola, Fla.
Florida commitment Kelvin Taylor of Glades Day High in Belle Glade, Fla., is third with 8,672 yards.
Henry has rushed for at least 100 yards in 37 straight games, which tied a Florida record. The Florida Times-Union says Henry is only three 100-yard games from breaking the national record, which is held by Pittsburgh freshman Rushel Shell, who rushed for 39 straight at Aliquippa (Pa.) High during 2008-11. Eventual Heisman winner at Oklahoma, Billy Sims, rushed for 38 straight at Hooks (Texas) High in 1972-75.
Henry has helped Yulee to a 2-1 record as it faces Jackson tonight. He rushed for 336 yards on 31 carries in a 51-28 loss to Gainesville. He then had 242 in a 55-0 win over Potter’s House. the following week, Yulee beat South Lake 42-14, and Henry had 303 yards and five touchdowns on 41 carries.

Bo Scarbrough has 14 carries for 80 yards for Northridge. #Alabama
Against a very good Hoover team. Also, sounds like Marlon Humphrey is having a heck of a game.

Henry rushed for a single-game record 502 yards and tied a career high with six touchdowns as Yulee beat Jackson 45-28. Shawn Smith of Tampa Bay Tech set the old mark of 501 in 1985.
Henry had 339 rushing yards by halftime. But with 7:49 to go, Henry had 478 yards as Yulee got the ball at the Jackson 24. He picked up all 24 yards, scoring the touchdown on a 1-yard carry with 6:31 to play. He finished with 45 carries.
“We’ve had these nights — not necessarily 500-yard nights — where you can tell early on, he’s got it,” Yulee coach Bobby Ramsay told the Florida Times-Union. “Feed it to him.”
Henry now has 9,255 career yards, which broke the Florida record of 8,804, which NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith compiled at Escambia High in Pensacola, Fla. Henry broke Smith’s mark on his third carry of the night — a 70-yard touchdown run.
He has told reporters he will announce his college destination Thursday.
