This is where the rubber meets the road and we will see how much Jalen has progressed as a QB.

I honestly don't think they have the personnel to do what they did last year. I think they will try but will have to commit more guys up front and leave gaps either for Jalen to run or for receivers/tight ends to fill.

Also, and Kiffin said as much afterwards, he kind of froze up last year once Aranda's scheme stopped us cold early. We got caught up in the environment, the tightness of the game and we clutched our pearls on offense (and it ended up working). I don't think we'll be doing that this time at home.

I also think we are going to come out early and pound them in the middle and see what they have there. If they bow up, we'll move to Part 2. But DaBoll will make them prove they can stop the run.

We've also shown some nifty throws to backs, tight ends, and WRs on slants that Kiffin either didn't have in the play book or was afraid to try last year.

IMO, we're a lot harder to defend this time around.

From an LSU fan perspective, I like the offensive coordinator you guys have now far better than Kiffin. I think Kiffin would be a great fit for any number of programs, but for you guys I think "Keep it simple stupid" should be the motto for your offense. You have arguably the best defense every year. And you have better players across the board arguably every year. I like your new OC. He seems to call the game according to the players he has now. The only time y'all should have any trouble moving the ball is if you face a defense that can stop the run. And I don't know that you will

I think he is a better fit for our program overall. The test will be when we get into a tight game and we have to mix things up, but so far we really like what he's given us.

I've said this on the Rant a lot, but I've been really impressed with Canada. He has a non-mobile average QB, a mess on the OL, only 1 or 2 reliable receivers and a RB who has been hurt a lot.........and he's found ways to craft gameplans that give LSU a chance to win.

Oh definitely. He has drawn up plays to set up other plays for later in the game. It's just that we have only executed those plays 50% of the time. Some of thats on the oline and some of thats on Etling. Going to have to be 100% on execution to have a shot on Saturday.

And the statistical model fared pretty well again if you consider we were inside the 10 and about to score again to make the final 31-10 but we didn’t.

Also, if you peruse the thread, I posted that I would be shocked if we scored in the 30s on 7SU because we always played tight and conservative against them. I predicted 23-10 in that thread.

I expect more like a 23-10 game.
