yeah i could see Kief getting up to a legit 215.

any guesses as to what Christian Miller is weighing? He probably needs to get up to a legit 235 or better

He was pretty damn thin in fall camp last year, I don't know what we listed him at, but we probably were generous. I'll say he's around 215-225 by now with that 6'4" frame.

Evans maybe 225-230?

I'm surprised Shaun Hamilton is only 229. He's only 5'11"/6'0" so it isn't like he has a tall frame to put weight on, but 229 for an ILB just seems weird

Hell Hootie is 6'2" 220ish at Safety

according to the roster he has lost 2 lbs since highchool. rivals listed him at 215, hes now 213. maybe one of those guys who will have trouble putting on weight (like kelly). speaking of weight, did anyone notice that dakota ball dropped 40 lbs to play TE/FB? he was 292 coming out of HS, is now 254. pretty impressive body transformation

I'm not sure how I feel about Deionte Thompson getting some work at WR.
I really think he can be a All-American at Safety in the future.

@_DCReeves: Bo Scarbrough had knee surgery. Saban hopeful they’ll have him back for the season.

@_DCReeves: A’Shawn Robinson - sprained ankle and sprained knee. Day to day.

@_DCReeves: Saban said they’re trying Eddie Jackson and safety and Deionte Thompson at receiver for the next few days.

@Tide991fm: "Ronnie Clark is doing fine and no longer has a black jersey (non-contact)." -Saban

@CecilHurt: Saban: "Avery Johnson is part of our family now...He's going to be in my basketball league but I'm going to play the point."

@Marq_Burnett: Saban on QBs: David Cornwell has done well. Blake Barnett, being a freshman, has done well. Jake Coker & Alec Morris have done well at times

My guess is it's just temporary until Ridley and Charlot show up and ball out. Charlot is criminally underrated by our fanbase. I really think he could be a stud. There's a reason LSU tried their damndest to flip him. They may suck at qb evaluation, but they always have good WRs.

You're right about Charlot. It's similar to how Chris Black overshadowed Amari until the season started. I want to see Charlot returning punts.

I really don't remember this. Before the 2012 season Coop was the guy that Saban and other players kept bringing up. They may have brought up Black too, I don't really remember.

Saban was always high on Cooper but I was just talking about from the fan's perspective. Black was rated higher than Cooper and I always heard fans talking more about Black until her got hurt.

It's something I've brought up a couple times.

I remember all the buzz from beat reporters being about Amari. But then Black had a TD on A-Day and supposedly CNS was talking up Black at some off-season speaking engagements.

Anyway, fast forward to the week leading up to the '12 SECCG. CNS mentioned that we were considering burning Black's redshirt because of injuries to a couple WRs and the Black hype on message boards went into overdrive including "Black was ahead of Amari before his injury"

Sounds like Cornwell is the man right now. Interesting....

If Cornwell wins the job we can pretty much kiss recruiting a good qb this year goodbye. We never recruit well at qb when there is an incumbent that will be there awhile.

Still, give 'em hell, Cornwell.

I truly wonder what the hell those people who were hyping Coker were talking about.

Ole Jimbo pulled a fast one on his old boss.

But I'm excited by the news of Cornwell's development and Jackson's move to safety. I think Jackson's knowledge of the playbook, if he wins the FS job, will allow Hootie to make plays in the box, especially against running QBs. This team is very talented on paper and hopefully Reggie and Derrick set the tone for this team going into summer camp.

Saban could also be saying it to encourage Cornwell not to transfer or to make sure that all the QBs takes the battle seriously. The last thing we need is for the other QBs to slack all summer, the starter gets injured, and then we have someone who hasn't been studying the playbook as diligently because they assumed they wouldn't need it.

You never know with Saban. You can rarely take his spring comments at face value. Kind of like his NSD comments where he talked about Barnett having a good opportunity to win the job this year. We all know that one was BS because pigs will sprout wings before Saban starts a true freshman QB (without a rash of injuries first, of course)

I've been wanting more stability at qb, so I'd be perfectly fine if Cornwell took the reigns.

Say Cornwell starts in 2015 and 2016. Barnett redshirts in 2015.

Going into 2017 Barnett would be a Redshirt Sophomore, if Cornwell goes pro (obviously hard to predict) then we could get 2-3 years out of Barnett.

Getting multiple years with both of them would be perfect.
