Gaudin, 39, passionately followed the Braves while growing up in Evansville, Ind., and he became an Atlanta resident while he served as the play-by-play man for Georgia Tech football and men’s basketball from 2013-16. He has spent the past seven years calling games for FOX Sports and The Big Ten Network.
Now, Gaudin will team with analyst Jeff Francoeur to serve as the Braves’ primary television announcers.
“Today is the realization of a childhood dream,” Gaudin said. “I get to be behind the mic for the team I grew up idolizing. And the team who fostered my love for both sports and broadcasting. I’m grateful to both the Braves and Bally Sports for this incredible opportunity. I cannot wait to work alongside this team and talented broadcast crew.”
ESPN’s Tom Hart and Eric Collins, who calls Charlotte Hornets games for Bally Sports, were among the others interviewed for the job.
Gaudin has served as the voice of the widely popular Madden NFL video game since 2017.

Anybody know who this Mike Soroka cat they talking bout is ? Geeeez
quote:
Feb. 17: RHP Michael Soroka experiencing hamstring tightness
Soroka’s bid to prove his twice surgically repaired right Achilles is healthy is on hold. Braves manager Brian Snitker said Soroka felt hamstring tightness at the start of Spring Training. The Braves are hopeful the right-hander can resume normal preparations soon. But they will take things slow with the hurler, who has made just three starts since the end of his strong 2019 rookie season.

INJURY UPDATES
LHP Tyler Matzek (Tommy John surgery)
Expected return: 2024
Matzek had Tommy John surgery on Oct. 12 to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. Matzek became an Atlanta legend during the 2021 postseason, but the reliever never regained his velocity or dominant form in '22. He likely won't be ready to pitch again until the '24 season. (Last updated: Oct. 12)
RHP Huascar Ynoa (Tommy John surgery)
Expected return: 2024
The Braves announced on Sept. 9 that Ynoa had undergone successful Tommy John surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. Ynoa will likely miss the 2023 season while recovering. The 24-year-old posted a 4.05 ERA in 18 appearances (17 starts) for Atlanta in '21. Ynoa has struggled since he fractured his right hand when he punched a dugout bench six weeks into the '21 season. He posted a 13.50 ERA in two starts for Atlanta and a 5.68 ERA in 18 appearances (17 starts) for Triple-A Gwinnett last year. (Last updated: Sept. 9)

Pulling for this guy...
Anderson 'in a good spot' after leaving '22 in past
LINK
A refreshed and energized Anderson returned to Spring Training this year looking forward to a new start and the chance to prove he can be an asset in Atlanta’s rotation for many years to come. The 24-year-old hurler is just 60 starts into a career that has already introduced himself to the highs and lows of a humbling game.
Anderson burst on the scene during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, shined during that year’s playoffs and again tasted postseason success while helping the Braves win the 2021 World Series. But the guy who helped the Braves win Game 3 of that same Fall Classic by throwing five scoreless innings, is now looking to show he deserves one of the five spots in Atlanta’s rotation.
Early indications are Anderson has righted himself. The right-hander has regained consistency in his delivery, added a slider to his repertoire and returned with the confidence he may have lost while posting a 5.11 ERA over 21 starts before being optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett last year.
“He’s not the first and he won’t be the last that experiences something like this,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said. “It’s just part of the game. A lot of them have had to do that.”
Now Anderson is looking forward to being the latest member of this group to make a successful rebound. He is the favorite to fill the one vacant spot in Atlanta’s rotation, especially now that his best friend Michael Soroka has been slowed recently by a tight hamstring.
“He looks really good,” Snitker said. “It’s just good that we’ve got him back healthy. He’s been down here working all winter.”
What did Anderson think most significantly influenced last year’s woes?
“My delivery was in a bad spot,” Anderson said. “It just wasn’t letting me do what I wanted to with the ball. I really don’t know how it happened. If I did, I could have figured it out earlier. I don’t know if it was pitching late into the season with the World Series and then coming back last year and picking up a ball and just thinking it was going to happen. I really don’t know.”
Fortunately, Anderson knows he can be successful in the Majors. He posted a 1.95 ERA over six regular-season starts in 2020, then constructed a 3.58 ERA as he made 24 starts over his first full big league season in '21.
Along with a cleaner delivery and the slider, Anderson has come to camp with the confidence you’d expect from somebody who stands with Christy Mathewson and Stephen Strasburg as the only pitchers to post a 1.50 ERA or lower through at least eight postseason starts.
“I feel like I’m in a good spot,” Anderson said.

In case you missed it, great piece here showing Ron Washington working with Vaughn Grissom. Easily the biggest story to follow this spring. After watching some of Grissom minor league footage IF Ron Washington turns Grissom into a serviceable big league SS the man is clearly a wizard. I'm honestly shocked the team seems prepared to ride or die with Grissom this year. Arcia is a great bench piece, but a starting SS for a title contender is a stretch.

Kyle Wright’s right shoulder feels better than it did during any of the past three seasons.
But the Braves right-hander is gradually making up for time lost in January, when he halted his normal preparations for three weeks following a cortisone injection.
“Most of the guys during the offseason have to get over that hump to get going again, I just couldn’t get there,” Wright said. “Then once I [got the injection and rested] I was like, ‘Wow, this is how it’s supposed to feel.'”
The good news is Wright’s shoulder feels better and stronger than it did while he constructed MLB’s only 20-win season last year.
The reality is he is slightly behind schedule after having to restart his throwing program just a couple weeks ago. The Braves have mapped out a plan for Wright to be ready for the start of the regular season. But to ensure the 27-year-old hurler’s preparations aren’t rushed, he likely won’t make any starts during the first couple weeks of the Grapefruit League season.
"I feel whole, healthy and fresh again for the first time since about 2020,” Wright said. “It’s nice. You forget what it’s supposed to feel like because you’re just kind of used to it. So far, I feel great. I’m excited about hopefully keeping the same feeling my whole career.”
Wright entered 2022 with a 6.56 ERA through 14 career starts and there was reason to wonder if he’d ever live up to the expectations set when the Braves selected him with the fifth overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft.
Wright lessened concerns as he tallied 21 wins, posted a 3.19 ERA and then legitimized his regular season success by tossing six scoreless innings in a Game 2 win over the Phillies during the National League Division Series.

Vaughn Grissom is currently batting .455 this spring... Dansby batting .145 for the cubs. lol
Who yall got winning that left field job ? Eli White has been turning heads. Hilliard batting .355
Fifth starter spot is getting more interesting than I wanted it to.

Eli is a career .185 hitter.
Hilliard is a career .212 hitter with little production.
I wouldn't put much stock in spring training hitting.
You might see Hilliard on the roster as a back up outfielder because he's out of options. White has two options left. Neither would start in left.
They're going to roll Eddie out in left and Ozuna will DH to start.
Hopefully, Grissom hitting well will continue. I do think he has the potential to be very good.
For the pitching, we're going to need to find upgrades for the 4th and 5th spots before it's over. And Kyle Wright having shoulder questions before the season starts is not good.

Happy Opening Day!!
Didn’t see Arcia getting a 3yr extension, but it was pretty cheap even if he ends up a utility player.
Ozuna in left is meh, but at least he’s hitting .315 this spring instead of .188 from last year’s preseason.
Shuster and Dodd in the rotation is definitely a surprise. Hope Wright can get healthy and would love to see Soroka back sometime this year, but he seems cursed.
Hope Olson keeps raking and Ronnie has a huge year! Albies back, Murphy behind the plate, Harris with a full year…lots to be excited about!!!!

Always excited optimism on opening day.
Here's hoping Acuna plays 150+ games.
Ozuna plays well. Stays out of jail.
Morton shows he's worth having another season.
Iglesias soon gets better.
Dude is a quality closer.
We win our 6th straight division title.
