“I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Coach Kiffin to the Ole Miss family,” Ole Miss AD Keith Carter said. “As we entered this process, we were looking for energy, innovativeness and a program builder who could excite our student-athletes and fans. Coach Kiffin checked every box and is a home run for our program. I look forward to locking arms with him to take Ole Miss Football to a championship level.”

“As an experienced head coach and one of the great offensive minds in college football, Lane Kiffin brings energetic leadership, deep understanding of the competitive landscape of the SEC and an approach to the game that will captivate Ole Miss fans,” Chancellor Glenn Boyce said. “I am thrilled to welcome Coach Kiffin to Ole Miss and Oxford as we look ahead with great anticipation for the future of Ole Miss Football. In addition, I want to congratulate Keith Carter for the outstanding leadership he demonstrated in attracting a nationally recognized coach to our university to lead the Rebel football program.”

"I look forward to locking arms with him to take Ole Miss Football to a championship level"....I'm sorry, but exactly where has Kiffin been solely responsible for taking a football team to a championship level??

He had a couple good spots he was in but I would say a much better hire than Arkansas did. It may be hard to win at ole piss for Lane but a decent hire.

If I was Lane, I'd make sure to secure a high buyout before I would sign anything

Larry, first and foremost, huge fan of your work. But that was a fake Neal McCready account that Brett got that from. None of it is true. Now would be a great time to delete this false news story. You can’t have 5 year contracts in the state of MS.

The thing I can't understand is that Ole Piss is strapped for cash, got to pay Matt Luke the money they owe him and got pay FAU the buyout money and pay Lane Kiffin his contract salary. That school doesn't make that kinda money to afford that plus the rest their normal fees. Ah well good for him, might not be good for his time there but hope it a bigger contract than Tennessee or that guy will bolt quick.

Ole Piss probably took out a loan since they are so strapped for cash

I thought the coach was responsible for the buyout. I guess the agent negotiates the new school to pay for the old buyout?
