Offensive Line Discussion

Guys enter the portal for a whole host of reasons. But I have never seen anything like what is going on with our offensive line. Six guys!
Here are some reasons they could be portaling:
1. They have received feedback that they are unlikely to get meaningful playing time under Kiffin. Or, they are self-aware and looking for a new home where they will actually play.
2. They are testing the waters to see if they can get more NIL elsewhere, hoping to use that to leverage LSU for more money.
3. They have a strange loyalty to Brad Davis (or other coaches not retained) and either want out or want Kiffin to know they are upset.
4. They genuinely think they are elite and want to get paid / start elsewhere. (E.g., Lance Heard)
I do not believe any of these guys are in bucket 4. This may have been the worst offensive line of the 21st century. So I’m curious which bucket yall think Adams, Chester, Curne, Echols, Mubenga and Williams are in.

QB evaluations and recruiting have been so hit or miss the last three years I think it’s worth kicking the tires. Other than Arch Manning, every 5 star QB over the 2023/2024 cycle has transferred. They aren’t as good as advertised. And meanwhile plenty of dudes who weren’t as good at the marketing game have real talent - Chambliss, Pavia, Mendoza.
He will go wherever they pay him the most.

True but having bowl practices that Lane and the new coaches can use to make evaluations (and decisions about portal strategy) is invaluable.
OU goes as Mateer goes. Mateer hasn’t healed and played hurt all season. I’m not sure if the week off will be enough but he was so stupid for rushing back to play Texas instead of getting right.

The first round of these playoffs are going to be unwatchable and uncompetitive. The only decent game will be watching Miami expose A&M as fraudulent.
