What do you think Ole Miss’ record will be with Pete Golding?

I agree with this. The whole Hermes / Iris interplay and walking pre-parades is awesome. Plus if you get into Galatoire’s it’s epic. Sadly those seats were auctioned off this year for an average of $3k per seat.
re: Saban Question...Does anyone else find it odd that he is an ambassador for us now?

Plus, cynically, I am sure Saban would like to see another team besides Bama (now that he’s gone) rise to SEC dominance. It makes what he did at Bama more special if they fail to sustain success without him.

Feels like only areas that are not absolutely stacked are CB and DT

You think LSU invested millions into this guy to have him ride the pine?
Who did Lane pay more last season - Simmons or Chambliss?
Leavitt will have to lose the job but make no mistake, if either of the other two is demonstrably better, Lane will have no problem playing them.
Wonder what the final figures are?

You know that the deal will leak somehow, likely from the jilted parties. I’m not paying it so it’s no skin off my back, but I wonder how much we are paying for Seaton?
247 Portal Rankings
Posted by ROPO on 1/21/26 at 2:49 pm
With the swipe of their edge, LSU has passed Ole Miss in the average ranking of their portal players. This includes all of the special teams specialists. #1 overall (by a mile) and #7 on average rating.
This means nothing except I have been annoyed by Ole Miss fans trying to argue they have better quality. And if anything I still think a lot of our guys are vastly underrated.

You are forgetting Harper. And Dottery and about to be your best edge rusher.

Nothing semi about it. It’s a second pro league
You don’t post this after Kiffin posts his return to the ops building if you plan to pick LSU. I don’t know how we can spin it any other way.
re: So far, we got 8 OL in the portal. Lost a few.

I fear you are correct. OL talent is still not great. Hope we get Seaton in a way that doesn’t create locker room issues.

How did he do in that role?

In fairness, the jury is still out on this.

Tale as old as time.
They are what their film says they are. We need some of Cignetti’s philosophy here as it pertains to portal guys: production over “potential”

He’s done really well. It just shouldn’t be compared to other years when no one has found an accurate way to rank transfer portal players
Absolutely. There is too much “former 4 star” tied to these kids. And a kid like Landen Clark is going to get saddled with a mid-3 star grade because he was a 0 star recruit. MVB is rated higher. Ditto Ja’Quan Sprinkle. Somehow he’s rated below Paul Mubenga and DJ Chester. I trust our coaches to know better having told those former players to kick rocks while actively recruiting our new players.
What’s exciting to me is that as well regarded as our portal class is, I think there is a better chance that it is underrated than overrated.
Parker to Auburn makes ZERO sense (unless it’s just chasing the last dollar). He’s perfect for a Kiffin offense.

Do you think any will return?
I’d love to get Kyle Parker, Tyler Miller and Walter Mathis back.

He’s not good. Terrible evaluation in high school by BK and the recruiting services. Just like they all underrated Clark.

So odd. This has to be a money play.
I also think you’re being a little harsh about the Clark kid. Your entire thesis is based on the fact that when he was 17 and 18 years old college recruiters and recruiting services did not notice him. He lacks the elite measurables. Those same recruiters labeled multiple busts as five star can’t miss prospects. It’s not an exact science. What Clark has done is show that playing at the collegiate level, he is a much better quarterback than anyone ever gave him credit for. Now at the age of 20, he is proving himself. I actually think that is more impressive than anybody’s high school recruiting rankings. I’d rather have him on the roster than Colin Hurley for example (who was a 4 star).

so, if this is the case, do you trust Lane's judgement and ability to field the best team possible? b/c it sounds like you are saying that he purposefully didn't do that, at least until injury forced him to roll with Chambliss...
I’m not going that far. Just saying that even if Chambliss was better in camp he would have to be heads and shoulders better given the investment in Simmons. Simmons is a good QB.
