On the latest episode of her podcast "The Morning After," Kelly Stafford talked about her "generous" prenuptial agreement with her husband L.A. Rams star QB Matthew Stafford...
quote:

“I had been with my husband for a while, but I was still young and very naive of this whole situation," Stafford explained. "We had talked about prenups even before getting engaged. I was very naive and was like, 'I feel like we're planning our divorce before getting married. I don't really love the idea.'"

"But then again I had to look at the other direction and say, 'Well, if we never get divorced, we'll never need it anyway,'" she added. "So why wouldn't I?"

"Honestly, it was, and it doesn’t even matter, it was very fair. He was obviously very generous in it all. But I think sometimes when you think prenups, it's a negative connotation when you're talking about marriage," Kelly continued. "And turns out, I agree with you, letting you and your significant other decide the terms if a divorce does happen."

"I don't think anyone thinks about it, the state has control and they do. At the end of the day, the government controls that contract. So, to make your own seems way smarter."

Funny thing is that women treat marriage as a business before it starts and after it is over, yet get offended when a man does the same thing. There are laws in place so she doesn't become destitute when she leaves marriage, so what is the problem with a man protecting himself? The prenups never offer you nothing. It's always drawn up to be reasonable. It's to stop the court system from ruining the man. The courts don't give a damn about men in these situations.

My wife and I have a prenup. Both our properties and assets before marriage are solely ours. Anything obtained during marriage is 50/50.
