Some of you are sad with your fear and ignorance of the ocean. It is something to be enjoyed, not avoided.

That's a good way to spread understanding. Open up with calling people sad and ignorant.

Prayers to him and his family. Hope his kids are okay too. He was a baller and a true football player.

Prayers and God bless this man for doing what a father is supposed to do. Hope he keeps improving.

Anyone know where this happened?

It’s always an uncle in these situations speaking on behalf of everyone

I think given the situation that I wouldn't expect my wife, kids, parents,or brothers and sisters to be the ones talking to the media. Aunt, uncle, or cousins would be the closest to the situation that would be available. Maybe in-laws.

I sat in the stands and watched him beast out all over the field in the 3ot game. McFadden and Jones were both good that day too, but Hillis was the difference.

That was a crazy solid backfield. The only others I know that were that deep was a few Saban coached Bama teams(always stacked deep) and Auburn when they had Brown, Cadillac, and Brandon Jacobs.

Trying to rescue someone swept out in the ocean is just about suicidal. I'm sure Peyton didn't hesitate and he is lucky to still be alive, though there is still some fighting left.

It was his own kids. I think most fathers would risk it all for their kids. I know I would. Praying for him

I don't screw around with the ocean, if my kids get their feet wet they have a life vest on. They hate me for it at the time but deal with it. The best of swimmers are no match for a rip current (not assuming that's what it was)

I’d die for my own kids right now. Hell, I’d even put my life on the line for my best friend’s children
