Harry Connick Jr. So Mad About No-Call He Wrote This Letter To Commish Roger Goodell
© Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports
The no-call at the end of the NFC championship game has everyone in New Orleans upset, including Grammy-winner Harry Connick Jr., who wrote this letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell saying he's boycotting the Super Bowl...
quote:

"Dear Commissioner Goodell,

Please know that I would've written this letter regardless of which teams were playing in the NFL championship.

I love the game of football so much -- the NFL gives me great joy and has for many years. To not call the pass interference/helmet-to-helmet penalties at the end of the game was one of the most disgraceful no-calls I have ever seen.

The officiating this year has been, for the most part, mediocre, in my opinion. But for a game as important as the NFL championship, it sickens me to know that the people who are assigned to fairly officiate the game seemingly had no regard for not only a dangerous penalty but one that would certainly have changed the outcome of the game.

Until changes are made, specifically, booth review of outcome-altering no-calls, you can count me out. I'm not watching the AFC championship game and I won't be watching the Super Bowl.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.

Sincerely, Harry Connick, Jr."

There are conspiracy theories floating around that Los Angeles really needed to get to the super bowl to increase interest in their fan base to help pay for the 5 Billion dollar stadium....and the two refs being from the Los Angeles area didn't help to qualm those theories.

Good for Harry, but they don't give a dam about the fans. It's all about the money. TV, gambling, and advertisement are what drives the players HUGE contracts and makes it just like wrestling, FAKE FOOTBALL!

I like how people really think it was simply a missed call.

The NFL has no integrity, but at least the individual games seemed to .... can't say that any longer. I guess the fact that the NFL described itself as ENTERTAINMENT years back in court is true and thus can fix the results as wrestling does, or at least did. Shameless $40MM man aka commissioner.

Except wrestling does it far better, they throw in enough plot twists to keep the fans interested.

The game's integrity is in question, and change always begins with one person. One can make a difference.
