The NCAA is a cartel. Is that a joke? Fo you know what a cartel is or what they do? They kill and extort people. How is that even remotely the same? People is this country with this self entitlement baffle me. Wake up, go to work, raise your family and make your own choices and way of life. No one owes anyone anything. Grow up and act like men

Someone doesn’t know what “cartel” means...O&G baw over here mad at 18 year olds for wanting to get paid for their labor because he never got the chance (or had the talent)

If you don't like it, don't go to College. Don't play college sports. It's not a draft. You don't have to play college sports. It's a privilege. It's a choice. DON'T GO TO COLLEGE

What a dumb take. The NCAA is a cartel. CA is making it legal for an individual to make money...and for the bozos on here talking about how it will ruin college football or basketball, or that it will create an unfair advantage, you are incredibly naive. All it is going to do is put the current backroom deals for star players out in the open. It will actually increase transparency. You will know that the alumni with all the car dealerships paid Tua $50k for an endorsement deal, as opposed to finding out about it 10 years later like we did with Reggie Bush and the sports agent who paid him and his family.

If the powers that be can’t understand that allowing ncaa players to sell their “likeness” will create an unfair advantage they are really naive. If a highly touted 5* recruit knows he can sell his jersey which fan base will by more if his jerseys out of Alabama and Northwestern? Out of LSU and Michigan State? Man I hope I perish before “they” frick up the very last thing I love about this country.

Better facilities, coaches, chance to make the NFL, television exposure, etc. at Alabama vs Northwestern is also an advantage. What's another uneven playing field?

stupid take. also selfish. He wants to keep college great at the expense of other people. What was special about college for Tebow doesn't have to be the same for everyone else.

But wanting to be paid while getting an education, free food, access to some of the best coaches/trainers around, and the myriad of gifts given when they go to a bowl game isn’t “stupid and selfish?”

Yeah cause all of these athletes are like slaves. They dont receive any benefits at all that normal students dont get.
