Look up coaches with undefeated seasons
What does being undefeated have to do with anything? Auburn can't get over .500

If it is the best job why can no one win there? Auburn hasnt had a record over .500 since covid :rotflmao:

So a baseball hire far worse than Woodward hire and a basketball coach who sucks
A baseball coach that has guided them to back to back national seeds and a basketball coach that had success in the SEC at Florida and actually got in the tournament this year.

Im getting to the point where I think Woodward was a lot of the media guys "source" which is why they are all so pissed about this.

There is a part of this they aren't telling us. My theory holds that the governor is a vindictive bitch and ordered the code red on Scott.
This is absolutely possible.
Two things can be true at the same time.
Scott failed the football and basketball programs, and because of that, didn't deserve to continue as the AD and make the next football hire.
The Governor is a moron and stuck his nose where it doesn't belong.

Jordan Rodgers said Kiffin won't come to this mess and that LSU is going to have to get creative now with their search.
Did Jordan Rodgers get his info from Moscona? Guys it hasnt even been a week yet and we're talking about hiring a coordinator now? Some of yall need to get off the internet and touch grass

So if the money to buy out Kelly isn't coming from public funds, and money is no issue in hiring a football coach, and Woodward has hired a bunch of other coaches who win and is generally doing a good job....WHY IN THE HELL WAS HE FIRED?
What AD gets to hire 2 football coaches? You cost your donors 54 million dollars because the guy you hired didnt work out. you think he should keep his job over that? What about the basketball program that has been a complete failure? Those are the only 2 sports that generate money. No one really gives a shite about womens basketball and gymnastics and baseball is just a net even sport here.

Would be smoking crack to leave his current setup for this dumpster fire
Way too many people are being emotional about this whole saga. We're getting a new president next week. And if this is true, we're getting a great AD not long after. How does this make this place a dumpster fire?

Why are we surprised that the AD who hired the fired coach also got fired? Everyone is melting because the governor cant shut his mouth but this shouldnt be surprising

Folks keep saying “Landry’s involvement” like he’s personally drawing up plays. The guy wanted a strong leader at LSU who’ll hold people accountable nothing wrong with that. Every governor has weighed in on LSU at some point. It’s politics as usual, but the narrative that he’s scaring coaches away is pure drama.
This 100%. Everyone needs to chill the F out, the job hasnt even been open for a week and were at least a month out from any hire taking place.
quote:
For me, an interesting thought if Woodward is not involved, is who does the new coach answer to if not the AD?
You do realize there are multiple high level positions at the athletic department besides Woodward right? And ultimately the head coach answers to the university president, which the new one will be hired next week.

The only successful football coaches he hired that worked out was when he was back at Washington.
When it comes to the money making sports hes really failed at hiring and ran men's basketball into the ground.

Think a little deeper. You seriously don't think some potential candidates are going to want to avoid the spot because of the political shenanigans? Who is your boss going to be? Is it LSU or the governor of this state? Do you now owe something to the governor for getting you hired? Are you going to have to publicly kiss his arse and/or do favors for him because he was involved in the process?
I think youre going a little too deep here. Landry said in his press conference that he had no personal issues with BK but that the performance on the field wasn't good enough. Which is what everyone on this board was talking about. Hes had beef with scott for a while and has wanted him gone and will use this as justification.
ADs also dont usually get to make 2 football hires. So I really dont understand the uproar over "who is gonna make the hire since we dont have an AD???"
He cant fire a coach without booster backing which ties his hands tremendously for this "quid pro quo" situation you are making up.
