This is kind of crazy. University of Washington's Will Simpson was ejected for excessively celebrating, but I just don't see it, do you?

Cobb wouldn't make it through the National Anthem in today's ball.

Twitter comment in response said it’s because of new rule where any gesture deemed to be taunting is an unsportsmanlike penalty and automatic ejection. If that’s true, I guess the slashing across his chest but that’s weak arse sauce if so.

I figured that's what it would be interpreted as but i thought he was just underlining the Washington logo???

This is why baseball is dying. People can’t have fun with stuff anymore. It’s not showing up the pitcher. You should be able to express emotion.

At what point was he ejected? Until you know that you can not understand what got him ejected.

It was the Travel Bawl bat flip. A finely coached technique that the Braydyns of the world love.

Don't carry the bat halfway to 1st base.

After rounding second, don't make a strange cutting motion with your hand.

I wish it was still ok for teams to beanball the batters after that and brawl. Then I'd be ok with the excessive celebrations you see today from batters.

Or just don’t give up bombs, and there’s no cause to celebrate

Pitchers scream and yell and pound their chests after a strikeout, but a batter celebrating is a baseball crime. It's been a ridiculous double standard for decades.

I’m guessing for holding the bat too long and flipping it? Either way, stupid.

And/or it was the slash on his chest, but he was just underlining Washington but whatever.
