Michael Jordan Said This Privately to Michael Wilbon About LeBron James
© Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports
While on The Rich Eisen Show, Pardon the Interruption’s Michael Wilbon shared this story of talking to Michael Jordan about LeBron James off the record a few years ago...
quote:

“This is an off-the-record thing that he would probably frown on me for telling, but I’m going to tell it,” Wilbon said on The Rich Eisen Show. “There were times earlier in LeBron’s career, and sort of sprinkled throughout, where people got critical of LeBron. Whether it was ‘The Decision,’ whether it was a play, passing off to Donyell Marshall, whatever. People think Michael Jordan resents LeBron. To me, there’s evidence to the contrary, in that there’d be a phone call.

“I’d answer the phone, and this is what I’d hear on the other end. ‘Hey, don’t take a shot at LeBron, that’s just garbage. This kid is great. There’s no need to take a shot at him.’ That conversation is playing out with him knowing it’s not going to be repeated — it’s not going to be told on PTI, it’s not going to be written about in the Washington Post, or on ESPN.com.”

Since of your comments are beyond ridiculous. It was said years ago and it's actually to the GOAT's benefit for well known Chicago loyalist Wilbon to mention it with all the haters coming out of the woodwork. "That conversation is playing out with him knowing it’s not going to be repeated"...which goes to show he had no reason to say anything but the truth. It's funny to see everyone get all butthurt. Whether its the Kobe/Lebron d-suckers or the cokehead former teammates who did that shite in hotels (and MJ walked away), this series should put most of them in their place. I'm not sure if its well known but MJ had complete control over the final cut of the series. His interviews were done over 3 days and his only stipulation was that his ex-wife & kids not be pestered for interviews. Part of our tight group of friends had professional interactions with MJ when his kids were playing in college. From hearing about them, the Wilbon story sounds completely in character.

Wilbon sucks. His opinions about anything not Chicago sports related are hack garbage. His opinions about Chicago sports are putrid.

Last week, this same douche apologized to Isiah for being "dead wrong" when he said on the doc that 8-9 people on the Dream Team had a problem playing with Isiah. The point was, MJ wasn't the only one that had a problem with Isiah being on that team. David Robinson backed that this past week as well. Wilbon is a spineless jellyfish leech that MJ will never talk to again.
