Boston Red Sox pitcher Kutter Crawford and his Philadelphia Phillies counterpart Matt Strahm were ejected for having too much fun this weekend. Prior to Saturday's game the two pitchers engaged in an old-fashioned national anthem standoff, but because of the MLB's new pitch clock rules designed to speed up the pace of play, both players were kicked out before the game even started...

It’s an old school baseball thing. Based on superstitions, some players want to be last back in the dugout after the anthem. To get inside their head a little the opponent would out last them standing there after the anthem. It’s really now more harmless fun between players.
