The Houston Astros unveiled their new 4-man outfield against the Texas Rangers on Opening Day Thursday. It came out against Rangers left-handed hitter Joey Gallo...

I guess it worked. Hmm.

Its against Joey Gallo. He could not hit a grounder to the left if his life depended on it. That was also a routine play for a left fielder in a 3 man outfield. Andrus and Co. need to get to second base in order for Gallo to be a more effective hitter so teams can't do this kinda stuff to him. The guy can crush baseballs, but left side infield does not have to be defended when he is up. Unless they are holding a base runner.

And if it does then they’ll probably stop. And still win another World Series.

Funny you say that, cause I just got off the phone with Houston, and they said go suckle on your mommy's teet.

Saw them do this in the spring. I didn't think they would try it during the regular season. And it worked!

Pretty sad that hitters can't slap or bunt to the left side of the infield. I mean, half the infield is available to them for an easy hit. This is supposed to be a fundamental skill for hit and run, sacrifice, etc.

For our Astros fans, the team introduced “el campo abierto con cuatro hombres.”

Bunt that shite to the left side and take the free base.

Seems simple enough, but not everyone at the Major league level can bunt all that well. Not to mention he was facing Verlander. Good luck trying to bunt 100+ mph with his movement when you suck at it.
