With the score tied 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning, something was said that led to East Springfield players arguing with fans near the third base line. The Milford Legion Baseball live stream showed No. 19 throwing multiple punches in under a minute.
"It was clear that with some of the taunting that was going on with the Milford fans, it was having some sort of impact on the players on the East Springfield side," Milford TV commentator Tim Caouette said, via Boston 25 News. "Then, eventually, it was Milford fans that came out onto the field. It was right by the East Springfield dugout. So, there were definitely members of the East Springfield team involved. The Milford players, themselves, were separated on the other side of the field."
The umpire tried his best to defuse the situation, but Monday night's game was ultimately suspended.
