This should just be called the NIL department.

Does this mean somebody offered Austin Thomas $5 more per year than he was currently making and he moved on Part III to greener pastures?

Purge the recruiting department. Don't need it anymore. Focus it all into scouting and find the players falling through the cracks. Relationships, etc. don't matter anymore. It's purely money.

Is he though? The "level" of a recruit may matter. Let's say you have 10 five star recruits you are trying to bring in. Out of those 10, how many will come to LSU because they built a good relationship with a coach (who may or may not be here next year) versus how many will come to LSU if they are the highest bidder?

5 stars are following the money. Relationship may come into play if the money is similar but at the end of the day, its a cattle auction and the highest bidder wins most of the time.
