Two major pieces of Lane Kiffin's first high school signing class at LSU were five-star recruits Richard Anderson and Lamar Brown, who both signed early in December.
Kiffin spoke with reporters on Wednesday and explained that the 'power of LSU' was why he was able to land those players despite the coaching shake-up in Baton Rouge.

"I get some credit for that, but LSU signed them," Kiffin said.
"We didn't have a DL coach solidified at the time. They still signed with LSU. That's not because of Lane Kiffin or Frank Wilson. That's the power of this place, that they would decide to sign, instead of waiting, because they both knew it was LSU."
"It's a big reason why we are here. When you have a place that can do things like that, especially for Louisiana kids, and nationally... It's a place you want to align with. To have that brand with you, it makes a big difference with them."
