LSU outside linebacker Marcel Brooks has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal, according to Shea Dixon with 247 Sports.

Brooks, a sophomore from Ft. Worth, Texas, played in 11 games last year and recorded eight tackles and 1.5 sacks.
quote:

On Friday, sophomore linebacker Marcel Brooks put his name into the transfer portal and can now be contacted by other college programs, multiple sources confirmed to the Geaux247 staff. Sources also confirmed that Brooks had a conversation with LSU's staff on Friday morning before making his decision to enter the portal.

A player is allowed to enter his name into the transfer portal and land at another college program, or they may pull their name out and remain at their current four-year institution.

When I hear somebody from LSU has entered the transfer portal, I usually say, “Who is that?” This one bothers me. A lot. I thought this kid was on his way to a bright future here. All-SEC was a lock. All America was a real possibility. Marcel, I really question your advisors. You belong at LSU.

Why? You know more than the kid does?

I thought surely when LSU became BLMU all issues would instantly go away and the world would be a better place. Disappointing.

Homeless, if you believe all the crap you just said you are lying to yourself and everyone else. Let me tell you something and any black that thinks like you. I am white and i am proud of it and me or any other white person owes you nothing. This made up so called white privilege and whatever systematic racism is supposed to be are complete lies. In reality the black community needs to look at the problems it inflicts on itself. Blacks are 13% of the US population and commit 52.5% of US murders. 72% of black children are born without a Father in the home. You or anyone has the opportunity to get off your arse and work and accomplish anything you want to do. Nobody is stopping you but you. Blacks needs to look in the mirror because the problems in the black community do not come from white people but internally from the black community itself. I do not know why Brooks is transferring but I guarantee you it has NOTHING to do with racism, so called white privilege, or any other crap you want to bring up. Marcell Brooks is too light in the arse to play as an edge rusher. LSU is going to a Bo Pelini 4-3 Defense and he is going to have to adjust or leave. I will not be surprised if Brooks ends up at Baylor. If so, bye and good luck but for you and your poor pitiful me crap blaming the white community, the Police, or anybody else is simply denying the black communinty's responsibility to itself.

Dang he seemed perfect for OLB in the 4-3 and Jacoby Stevens’ role. He always talked about being the next Delpit
