FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt released his preseason Top 25 this week, with LSU checking in at No. 8 heading into Lane Kiffin’s first season in Baton Rouge.

Klatt called the Tigers the “biggest wild card in the country,” saying LSU has the potential to climb into the top three — or fall completely out of the rankings.

"I'm putting them at No. 8. I think it's going to go well, but guys, we don't know. LSU... we're just on the Lane Kiffin express here. What's going to happen? I have no idea."

Klatt went on to say that he believes Kiffin should provide an immediate boost to an LSU offense that struggled last season.

"Kiffin averages over 500 yards of offense just falling out of bed."

Klatt pointed to the addition of Arizona State transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt and the nation’s No. 1 transfer portal class as reasons for optimism, while noting that early games against Clemson, Ole Miss and Texas A&M could go a long way toward determining how successful Kiffin’s first season will be.

He’s not wrong. We don’t know. We don’t know how the o-line will be, if the receivers will be any good, if the running backs will produce, if the QB is a full go, if the d-line will be solid, we don’t know who will be healthy by the time Kickoff gets here. Anything other than “we don’t know” is either dreams or hate depending on who is saying it.

Ah, the Big 10 homer. This guy's predictions are awful every year. Though, I will say last year he said before the season he knows LSU boosters personally and got some super deep pockets. He suggested that BK was on his way out guaranteed if they didn't do anything last year and he was spot on while others during the season said no chance he would be fired. So he definitely knows people within LSU.

Baws, you can tell ESPN pays him well. That NIKE ad dollar pays ESPN, hence Klatt promotes the most over-rated team in the history of college football, a/k/a, Oregon Ducks.

Have not ever won anything!!

Joel Klatt works for FOX, not ESPN. Your sentiment is correct with him not including a since SEC in the top 5, but that’s because FOX as the BIG Noon Kickoff, hence 3 BIG10 teams in the top 5 and zero from the SEC. ESPN is now in the tank revenue wise for the SEC.

Nike ads pay FOX well, too. Phil Knight treats U of O like Jones treats his Cowboys. Knight just does not have the ownership cost, but a free ride!!

What a Life!!
