In today's climate I could see any of these women leaving.
Mulkey and staff have actually done a great job at retaining the players they want to retain over the years. Samiah Smith is the only one I can think of (HVL didn’t fit the scheme).

The girls that commit to play for Mulkey have a mental toughness that helps.

Might be the pessimist or the realist in me, but this team as it’s been playing isn’t top 3-4 SEC. Almost rather those 3 or 4 teams dominating, giving the other teams more losses.
Can you do women’s bracket please? Thx

Only joking. My 80+ year old aunt and her friends literally do this exact same thing for women’s basketball and college football, but the old fashioned way writing it down by hand, makes copies, and hand delivers to their friend group

We (the USA) are exporting 10% of energy as a share of total consumption while the EU is importing 57% share consumption
So the US is self sufficient on energy. Yet Europe imports more than half of their ls. The US is trying to calm the Strait of Hormuz, where a large amount of oil flows through, but Europe doesn’t want to help?

How does that make sense?

Government spending increases GDP, especially in the short term (while Trump is President). Trump seems to care more about GDP than the budget deficit, so here we are.
Your call mate. What’s your risk tolerance. If you save $10k on the purchase price and have to pay $5k later for fixes, you still come out ahead $5k minus a headache.

Just throwing random numbers out there, and the future repairs from the replaced engine job could run you more than the savings. Just something to think about.

I’m far from smart, especially when it comes to politics and war games. What would happen if we pulled out? We’d have more money to ourselves, maybe pay down some of the deficit or use it to continue to build our own military.

But this would force Europe to build up their army. They’d have to spend money. Is there a risk they could one day (collectively) overcome the power of America’s military?

Could we just be purposefully paying for these other nations to not have a strong military? Less competition for us, no?

Catcher from Barbe that plays for Texas was objectively the better player and we recruited Serna instead.
Anyone have an update on Serna’s AB just now? I missed it

That dude has 6 ABs this year. Nice troll attempt..“objectively”

Your priorities are retarded. You’d rather not spend $1Billion per day on a war that removes nuclear capabilities from terrorists whose motto is “Death to America”, but don’t care that we spend more than that on illegal alien benefits.

Next you’ll say he’s a “great “ 3rd baseman
No I won’t.

He’s a great third baseman though.
It’s obvious Carraway is in Jay’s dog house. Pearson shows poise at the plate and actually looks like a plus defender at third. I think he got on base 4 times yesterday and scored 3. I think we found our everyday third baseman.

Also a LA kid for those who put stock into that.

This. But more importantly, the kid needs to do what he WANTS to do. If he’s smart and hard working, he’ll be successful either way unless he hates what he does.

Not saying blue collar workers aren’t smart. Most are more “street smart” than “book smart”, but if he’s as brilliant as you make it out to be, he’ll find a way to beat his blue collar competition. The problem with white collar work is you have to be good at the work politics too to advance high. Or job hop every few years, which creates instability.

Never never NEVER take him out of the 9 hole.
It’s working, so I’m not suggesting changing it. He’s one of 4 guys that I feel good when he steps in the box, I wouldn’t hate moving him to leadoff to get him an extra AB.

At the same time, there’s a good chance you’d replace an AB from Curiel with Stanny through 27 outs. So yeah, leave him at 9. I don’t want to touch Milam, when Milam hits LSU scores.
I don’t have the statistics, but I’d say a 2:1 hit/run ratio is about average for college. We’re giving up a run for every hit these past few weeks. That’s gotta change.

Different players.
This can’t be fixed, obviously. Stanfield, Milam, Brown, and Curiel in order will produce runs. Arrambide will get hot at some point. Dardar needs to be more consistent, and he’s got potential.

Then you’ve got Yorke, Carraway, and DH (Braun or Simpson). May not win you games, but if they can understand their role they can be serviceable at the plate. See Milazzo in ‘23.

I’m not worried about the starting pitching. Yeskie will need to earn his paycheck this season with the relievers. Not out of the question.

This is shaping up to be another 2024. Start out awful in SEC play, but not giving up hope that they turn the corner at some point and get hot down the stretch. None of this will happen without better fielding.

Easy to say now.

LSU Will Win the Series

Posted by Tifway419 on 3/14/26 at 10:55 am
Did I wake up still annoyed about that walk off? Yes. But I posted yesterday that Friday’s game was the most even matchup of the weekend pitching wise, and LSU has the clear advantage Saturday and Sunday, especially with their Saturday Starter hurt.

Let’s not forget the positives from last night. They train and prepare for SEC caliber pitching, and it’s no coincidence they were exceptional all night. We may have had 1 3 up 3 down inning and we scored or threatened in 8 innings.

Vandy’s runs outside of the 9th were mostly gifts. They’re not a good batting team. And I believe they had 2 total base runners from the 5th-8th. Their bullpen is even worse.

I don’t expect to score 12 again, but LSU will score 6 minimum both games. Vandy will not get to 6 if we play clean baseball in the field like we did last night.

Half of the SEC lost last night. They’ll be 2 or 3 sweeps this weekend, but we’ll be sitting pretty after our first road series.

This is truth, and the only sunshine pumping is from the Lord on this beautiful day. Get outside, mow the lawn, drink a beer, fire up the grill, and prepare yourself for a fun night of baseball.:GeauxTigers:

Cooper Williams was excellent last year as a freshman. You expect a jump to his sophomore year, and you’d think at worse he’d just be similar to last year which is plenty good enough. That was your lefty reliever and somehow he regressed tremendously.

He was great in the 8th inning. I always find it hard to understand when you have a pitcher like Cowan dominating, why shut him down after the 7th to bring in your closer?

Everyone can have bad nights, and you already know your long reliever is dominating. Why not keep him in? The risk of a bad night from your closer is greater than the risk of the lineup catching up the second time through the order to a pitcher dominating.

Not saying this decision is on Jay, and the analytics are probably on Jay’s side here because almost every coach does this. I just don’t see the results panning out like you’d expect, especially in college baseball.

Vandy also has a pitching staff that has the propensity to give the batter first base for free. Need to be patient at the plate.
