Former LSU defensive back and outfielder Maurice Hampton re-entered the NCAA transfer portal this week.
Hampton, a former 2019 four-star safety from Memphis, Tenn., played in 13 games during LSU's national championship run in 2019 and played in eight games with five starts as a sophomore in 2020.
On the baseball diamond, an early injury in 2019 kept Hampton out of the lineup during a season that was ultimately canceled due to Covid-19. He played in five games in 2021 as a reserve outfielder.
He ended up transferring to Samford to play baseball and then to Memphis to play football.
