CBS Sports analyst Danny Kanell unveiled his "resume-based" Top 12 teams following Week 1 of the college football season, and LSU sits at the very top of his rankings.

Kanell made it clear that preseason expectations and rankings played no role in his list, which is based strictly on what teams have accomplished on the field and the quality of their competition.

After LSU's dominant season-opening win over Clemson in Tiger Stadium, Kanell ranked the Tigers No. 1 in the country, ahead of Ole Miss, Miami, USC and Notre Dame.
