Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff extended an offer to 2021 quarterback Garrett Nussmeier from Flower Mound, TX this week.

Garrett is the son of current Dallas Cowboys tight end coach Doug Nussmeier who has recently served as offensive coordinator at Alabama, Michigan, and Florida.

Garrett camped at LSU earlier this month.

I'm all for looking ahead with our recruiting, but the young man will be a high school sophomore when school starts this year. Isn't that just a wee bit early to be "offering" someone?

Great, gotta build a relationship several years before these guys graduate so they have time to see the quality of our program and what a great place Louisiana is to spend your university years!

Maybe just appearances, but this coaching staff is at least making the effort to attract top out-of-state talent vs previous regime taking whatever low-end 3-star is still available after signing day.

Bro do you follow recruiting? Les and Wilson were doing the same thing. 2013 #3 player Illinois, #2 player in Tennessee and North Carolina, #18 player in Cali (143rd best recruit) 2014 #5 and #6 players in Texas, #5 player in Mississippi, #3 player in Oklahoma, and the #1 player in Illinois. 2015 #9 and #11 player (104th best recruit) in Georgia, #15 (103rd best recruit) and #6 player in Texas, and #5 player in Florida. Also 7 of our top 9 recruits came from out of state in the 2017 class with 5 of those 7 committing before Les was fired (including the #1 and #3 commits in our class). In actuality, this group had one out of state guy at 198 overall in the 2018 class. The others were barely 4 stars. That's significantly worse than previous years. If you're going to shite talk the previous regime, at least be accurate.

Datbayoubengal, thanks for trying to educate this dumbass. I read his post yesterday and all I could do was laugh at it and move on. You did a great job of setting the record straight.
