Jake Broggi, a 6-4, 190-pound quarterback from Brother Martin in New Orleans, LA announced Monday that he will be joining the LSU football team as a preferred walk-on. He spoke with SEC Country about his decision:
quote:

“I went up to LSU today to make it official,” Broggi told SEC Country. “It means a great deal to me be an LSU Tiger because I would watch LSU football growing up and always dreamed of playing for LSU one day.”

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound quarterback did not hold any other scholarship offers, but had preferred walk-on offers from TCU, Louisiana-Lafayette and Memphis.
Broggi is Brother Martin's all-time leading passer in school history and threw for 2,837 yards and 28 touchdowns last season.

Kind of odd that a kid with his size and those stats didn't have any scholarship offers.
