Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff received some great news on Friday afternoon when elite safety Jacoby Matthews announced his commitment to the Tigers.
Matthews, a five-star prospect from Ponchatoula, LA (Ponchatoula) chose LSU over Alabama, Georiga, Mississippi State, Texas, Oklahoma, and others.
The 6-2, 210-pound athlete is rated the No. 1 safety in the country and No. 1 player from the state of Louisiana for the class of 2022, according to Rivals. His verbal pledge gives LSU 13 commitments for the class.
