Four-star wide receiver Jakai Anderson has flipped his commitment from LSU to SMU.

The 6-0, 160-pound receiver from McDonogh 35 High in New Orleans originally committed to LSU back June of 2024. Now, he's headed to SMU.

I use to stay up with recruiting. Not anymore. Commitments don’t mean a thing. Even signing has lost its luster as this is only a one year thing anymore.

None of this matters anymore. The game we knew and loved is gone.

Fishing on fall saturdays will be awesome!

A WR from LA doesn’t go to LSU. Oh well. You can throw a football and hit a 4 star WR in the state.

You'd hope they would catch it rather than it hit them

Sounds like LSU may have received a silent commitment and Anderson thinks he will see more playing time at SMU.

SMU has big donors. The area around university has upper class neighborhoods. I was impressed. I told my wife SMU will be big players buying a football program.

Considering they were the 1st D1 football program in NCAA History to get the death penalty in the late 80's; i'd say they're pretty proficient in buying a football program

And this time it won't cost them the program

Odd to go from LSU to SMU. I guess Boobie maybe coming home?

He’s fourth on the list of recruits right now, and they are still going after 3-4 others. Not surprised.

It’s not odd at all, SMU is known to have a shitload of money, plus they went to the playoffs before us. They are a legit contender again this upcoming season and will probably be the best team in the state of Texas this year.

They are not a legit contender. They are always a threat to make the playoffs because their league is way down. But they are not, and never will be, a legitimate contender for the championship.

Much respeck for his decision. I’m sure he will remain “committed.”

At this point, can anyone care about this type of stuff? He can take all 160 lbs to SMU

Clear path to the NFL with LSU. No recognition at SMU. Makes sense. Sounds like a smart choice.

$$$ and poor mentoring....probably a parent just looking at max $$ today and couldn't care less about long-term
