The LSU coaching staff landed a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez on Thursday morning.

The 6-5, 280-pound lineman from Gonzales, La. (East Ascension) committed to the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma and many others.

Martinez is rated the No. 6 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 5 overall player in Louisiana for the class of 2026, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Martinez is LSU's second offensive line commit in the 2026 class, joining offensive guard Jalan Chapman from New Orleans (Warren Easton).

LSU now has six verbal commits for the class of 2026.

pretty confident about this one... in our backyard, family all huge LSU fans... not saying it's a for sure done deal, but i'm just saying this is one that very well could stick all the way to signing day, even this early

Announcing commitments before they sign is about as news worthy as interviewing a coach during a game.

As long as we pay the going rate for an La. kid at his position, we get him. Out of state, not so sure.
