Univ. of Kentucky Basketball's Terrence Clarke Dead At 19, Killed In L.A. Car Crash

19-year-old University of Kentucky basketball player and a projected 2021 NBA Draft pick, Terrence Clarke, was killed Thursday in a car accident in Los Angeles...

We're told Clarke was driving a Genesis around 2 PM in the San Fernando Valley when his vehicle was struck by another car ... sending him smashing into a pole and before ultimately slamming into a wall.

Footage from the accident shows Clarke's vehicle completely smashed in.

Law enforcement sources tell us the accident is being investigated -- but so far, no official cause of the crash has been determined.

We're told Clarke was in Los Angeles with his Kentucky teammate, B.J. Boston -- another NBA Draft prospect.

Boston was reportedly in the car behind Clarke when the accident occurred -- but we're told he's physically okay.

What a tragedy..... Listen to the Freaknomics podcast about traffic circles and roundabouts. Pretty interesting statistics about how a large percentage of fatal car wrecks happen at tradition “+” type intersections. Enough data now to support getting rid of many red lights and stop signs and replacing with roundabouts..... We all did dumb shite as teenagers but fortunately many of us came out alive. Sorry for his family and friends.

Boston was in a white genesis in front of Clark. Clark driving a black one. Both were speeding. They might have even been racing by the looks of it. Bad decisions there.

Looks like they were racing or at least just flying in traffic. Originally I read Boston was behind him. Stupid decision cost him his life. Glad no one else was hurt.

I watched the crash video. He was FLYING, ran the red light, and wasn't wearing his seat belt. Tragic, of course, but man, he made a lot of mistakes that cost him his life. Thank god no innocent people were harmed.

Daily Mail has a video of his car speeding through a red light, almost T boneing a pickup truck, plowing into a cement wall and a tire from his car rolling into the intersection. The truck driver was lucky. As were any other drivers on the road near them.

why can't we assume no seatbelt? Seatbelts hugely reduce the risk of injury or death. Hell, Tiger had one of the worst crashes imaginable and he survived - because he had his seatbelt on. Whenever I hear of death in a car accident, I automatically assume no seatbelt. It's not 100% lifesaving, but it's a massive risk reducer.
