Would you?

Business decision. Had to do what's best for his familly. Shutting down the Let 'em Roll process. Please respect his wishes.

This is just to confirm what some have posted below... one of my best friends was on the show. He won his prize and the showdown. Truck, boat, furniture, the whole thing... I think the showcase was like $30,000. He walked away with nothing because he was told he had to pay taxes before he left. After all was said in done he was going to have to pay like $9000 to take home his prizes and he did not have that kind of money laying around.

If I didn't have the 9k laying around I guarantee I'd find someone to front it to me and they themselves would make an easy 5k. No fricking way would I leave 30k on the table because of a 9k problem.

With one more chance, I agree with him. But two more chances, he should have tried.

Its really quite simple, in order to get the car he has to pay the taxes on the car. If he literally has 0 way of doing that then he would have to walk away with nothing. Where as with 1500, he just has to pay the taxes from the 1500 and he made money.

Odds are he's not from LA. Which would mean he had $ to take off work and travel there. I would assume he would be able to come up with the $ for taxes.

I’ve heard you have to pay the taxes before you leave with your prizes. That could have been a lie

Seriously, I think he's got some mental illness or Autism. Not because he took the $1500 over the car, but because of the way he answered. Something didn't look right. If he does, that might explain why he took the sure thing.
