Friend, A similar episode happened to me this week while I was free climbing El Capitan. A few minutes of casual grip hopping leads to a perilous situation. Gratefully, I was able to descend from near the Sickle Ledge without any injury. Mother was none too pleased. I shall describe the episode in greater detail soon. Yours, TulaneLSU
