Floyd Mayweather Has Request To Fight Conor McGregor In 8oz Gloves
© Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports
Only a couple weeks before their fight, Floyd Mayweather is requesting a rule change before he gets in the ring with Conor McGregor. He wants to change the weight of the gloves. Mayweather took to Instagram...
quote:

Don't believe what you hear in the media. Don't believe what you hear on blog sites. If it's not coming directly from me, then it's not true. I'm telling McGregor, "Let's fight in 8 oz gloves". McGregor can fight in any brand he prefers or chooses. I'll be wearing 8 oz Grant gloves. Whatever advantage McGregor needs to feel more comfortable in the ring, I'm willing to accommodate. Let's give the boxing and MMA fans what they want to see.

I want to see CM break both FMs arms, legs and snap his pencil neck into.

Of course you do. Put that boy in his place, huh? Good you don't have Alladin's Lamp where your wishes come true. Shouldn't you be rooting for the American?

This is all just show to drum up more money. If it was for the love of the game they would have already met behind a Sonic by now. It is a business and they are doing what they do to promote the business.

lighter gloves would benefit mcgregor. mayweather only putting this out there because he knows it's not going to change.

Doesn't matter, Nevada regulation requires any fight taking place at 147 or higher to use 10 oz. gloves. They agreed to fight at 155, w 10 oz. gloves. These guys don't have a say in the matter.

I would imagine lighter. Mcgregor would want lighter for higher knockout possibility. The only chance he has is a lucky hit.

Yeah, I have no clue.

Lighter, MMA basically uses gloves to cover knuckles. Those heavier gloves would probably tear into McGregor in the later rounds because they would feel too heavy to block.
