I never thought he was developed well (I mean it's freaking Auburn), but for people to get mad at this is weird AF to me. Kid started and played hard for 3 years and graduated with a degree. If he feels like he's done all he can here, then let him go. Next chapter is waiting. Just like with Max Johnson and Myles Brennan, I understand both likely reasons for leaving. Honestly I think Johnson doesn't believe or already knows he won't be guaranteed the starting spot next year. Nix doesn't see himself improving at Auburn anymore, and probably doesn't believe he'd start next year either, so he's moving on.

So he can stay at Auburn and start. Or he can go somewhere else and compete for a starting job. I don't get it.

Obviously the coaching staff let him know he wouldn’t be the automatic starter, they have other plans at the position
