Remember those silly light bulbs on the Deaf Dome sign?
Unfortunately he was one of my celebrity death pool picks. Wish it would have been Weinstein.

My job satisfaction typically about a 5/10 like now but that is a whole lot better than the 2/10 of my previous job
My job is about a 3/10. There are plenty of good people around but ownership is a train wreck. I envy those of you who enjoy the office.
Does anyone really like their job?

I've worked in various professional white-collar gigs for 25+ years. Over that time, I've never really looked forward to going to work. Does anyone really like their job? Some places are better than others, but mostly I get tired of a place after 4-5 years and find another job. I'm considering retirement in 6-8 years, so I have to hang in there for a bit. I wish I could find something that wasn't so boring that pays what I make now.
For context, I've made it up to a director level in my current position, so I've had some success. I guess I'm just burned out. Surely, I'm not the only one.

Our oldest will be 18 on Thursday and is leaving for college in the fall six hours away. I know she's ready and she's gonna flourish buy man I'm going to miss her. The youngest will be 13 and I know she's going to be graduating in the blink of an eye too!
Dropping them off at college is the worst. I still get choked up thinking about that day and it was 6 years ago. LOL

The important thing is to make sure that those credits will transfer to the university.
This is so true. Many higher ranked schools won't give any AP or dual degree credit. In fact, they won't let them retake the classes they got credit for in high school. The reward for excelling in high school is starting college with no credits and taking higher level maths and sciences.

While I agree that this guy was one of the biggest pricks that I can remember, LSU did manhandle him. That was during LSU's peak defense era.

Indoor malls in actual good locations never went away.
Check out Green Hills Mall and surrounding area in Nashville. It is absolutely packed every weekend and decently crowded on weekdays.

Waimea is a cool town. We really loved the Hawaiian Style Cafe there. The breakfast is amazing. A local turned us on to it. There is usually a wait, but it was so worth it.

re: docking station for laptop on small desk
Posted by bazeball on 1/20/25 at 11:26 am to BilbeauTBaggins
I use docking stations daily, and there is a difference. A good docking station will synchronize video much better than a small adapter. The adapters often have latency issues. I have a setup with multiple monitors, a printer, keyboard, mouse, and speakers running into a docking station. The one USB C cord can plug into a Windows laptop or MacBook and work seamlessly.
I know the cheaper adapters will accomplish most of this (I have an adapter in my laptop travel case). However, it's not polished. It's fine every once in a while, but not for a daily solution.
I have a Dell docking station now, but a coworker just got an Anker docking station ( Anker) and it has a ton of features.

OSU needs to win. ND being independent is truly an NIL hack. If they can recruit with a championship ring, they could build a dynasty with the money they have coming in. That's the worst case scenario for me.

I agree. I spent a few minutes on nurse.org and couldn't find that list. I did find that Southern was ranked as the #5 HBCU nursing program for 2025. HBCU List
I challenge anyone to find the list that is referred to in OP's post.

volunteer at a disabled children's camp
Incredibly cliche. Helping your local community is the benefit. If that were my child, I'd have him volunteering at football camps or sports camps for the underprivileged this summer. That fits his profile much better.
If he's trying to go to a private school out of state, especially a good one, grades and academic accomplishments are the focus. Those matter much more than extracurriculars.
Note: If he's serious about getting into a top school. he needs to be visiting schools if he can. Plan ahead and coordinate a spring break trip to see schools. By the end of the junior year, they need a working school list, their ACT completed, and letters of recommendation requested from two teachers (do this in May).
Good luck to you both.

Another vote for a Deluxe Reverb or even a Princeton Reverb. Neither the Blues Jr or Hot Rod Deluxe ever sounded good to me.
