On Wednesday's edition of Get Up, Paul Finebaum was asked if the Alabama dynasty is "over" now that Nick Saban has retired. He stated that, not only is the Crimson Tide's dynasty done, it's been done for a while now...
quote:

"We've seen Georgia win (the national title) twice and Michigan win once since Alabama last won a national championship, so yes, I would declare the dynasty done. It was done before Saban left. It's really done now that DeBoer is there," Finebaum said.

He’s 100% correct. Bama is now an also-ran.

The playoff predictions all have a whole new Alabama program finishing above LSU with Brian Kelly in year 3.

While Bama has been and is still a top tier program, I haven't considered them a dynasty for several years

Dumb, UGA has beaten Bama once in over 15 years, and only because both WR went down and the refs refused to call PI except on UGA WRs that night. And they still trailed well into the fourth period. Then Bama got shafted for TCU in the 2022 season, and had Mich. beat until the last drive. So, as usual Paul is just dumb. Saban's programs stay on AUTO DRIVE for at least 10 years, see Les Miles from 2004-2011 he won a title and was 13-0 in 2011 before Bama defeated him. I think DeBoer is a much better coach, cause he turned Washington around himself.

Would've been nice to have Bowers and McConkey healthy and not just decoys last year. Both were drafted before any Bama skill position player.

Would've been nice if the refs had called false start on Najee Harri's Candadian Football Leauge head start in 2017 on fourth and goal and the game with 3 minutes left and Georgia up 7.

In reference to Miles going 13-0 in 2011....1 of those 13 was a win AT Alabama! As far a UW, it has been a fairly good program for a while before DeBoer got there. WSe shall see what we shall se!

you have to keep winning titles to stay a dynasty.

One championship in 7 years ain't a dynasty. Never has been in sports. Next question.

They won in 2017 and 2020. Guess that's 2 in 7 years, depending on where you want to start/end the count. I would say there's no dynasty, however, it's more of just an empire now. If they make the playoffs and win 1+ games in playoffs - Bama is just continuing being an empire. Like it or not, they're going to be one of the top 10 teams for a while to come.

It's all subjective, but 3 championships in 6 or 7 years is a dynasty in my opinion.

1 in 7 seasons or 2 in 9 seasons doesn't cut it.
