ESPN is reporting that Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien has joined Bill Belichick's staff in New England as his new OC.

The Massachusetts native will return to the Patriots, where he was on staff from 2007-2011. He will also reunite with quarterback Mac Jones.

O'Brien's departure means Nick Saban will be hiring his sixth different offensive coordinator in the last eight seasons. Saban will also need to find a replacement for defensive coordinator Pete Golding who recently took the Ole Miss DC job.

I’m sorry to see him leave Bama after that a-hole ruined my Texans I was hoping he would cause Saban to get fired.

Looks like coaches are leaving before they get blamed for Saban's downfall.

Rumors that boosters are reaching out to Dabo through back channels.

Things do not look good for Bama. Guys know the writing on the wall for the program and they're jumping ship.

Yea, right. the writing was on the wall...that he and Golding sucked. Bama's offense is already better just with this announcement. Maybe the defense can stop somebody on a 4th qtr drive now.

If things don’t look good for Bama then Florida must be about to close their football program.

"Things do not look good for Bama. Guys know the writing on the wall for the program and they're jumping ship" .... uh, no. Golding was pushed out. And Saban is used to coordinators leaving, and almost always hires very effective replacements.
