Interesting question: is it better to be despised, or to be pitied?
Or, barely thought of at all. Hell most ku fans don’t think about ku outside of basketball. Most I knew growing up wear other schools colors and logos for football.

Or…just maybe…your bad luck. ????

Favorite part was taking away credit from the current staff for players and their development while giving all credit to B.O. for things that G.P.s players did.
All Mizzou fans wanted B.O. to succeed. But his lack of preparation and failure to get teams with good talent to compete with their peers and beat lesser teams was mind boggling. Never beating KY, 1-3 vs USC, Losses to middle TN, Purdue & Wyoming. He often needed a burn the film rah rah speech to salvage a season losing at least 5 in a row 3 of his 4 seasons. Something that happened just once in Pinkels 15 seasons. And although it fell apart at the end for GP, he passed on a program that was head and shoulders above what he took over. He went to 10 bowls in his final 13 years. Mizzou had been to 2 bowls in the 17 years prior to GP.
I know facts and reasoning are often lost here, but Barry was just not a very good HC

Who predicted that Missouri would win 2 games this year? You won 6 last year.
Who has Missouri beaten when they were favored against them? LSU maybe? Anyone else?
Damn near everyone man. first off, 6 wins last year against a normal schedule. 3 of those wins were against the sec. this year a 10 game SEC only schedule. Lots of people picked mizzou at 2-3 wins. Vegas and Basically every CFB media source picked MU 6th or 7th in the east. Sec network, cbs, ESPN, athalon, sporting new, college football news, sec media and so on. Heck go back and look at the projections from this board.
Lsu and Kentucky they were dogs.
I’m with you in beating a “giant”. He has performed well in games that the spread is within 1 score. But has yet to jump up and bite someone. It’s still early and he still has a chance this first year to do that.
I think a lot of people here forget what kind of things happened under Odom. And what the main difference has been. Winning games you should and winning games against your peers. Odoms tigers were .500 overall during his time. but was 1-3 vs SC and 0-4 vs Kentucky. Losses to WV, middle tenn st., Purdue, Wyoming and Vanderbilt.
If this season was normal with non-con this might have been a 8-9 maybe 10 win year depending on how they finish. Not to mention a new staff got a handful of spring practices prior to no personal contact and nothing but zoom and uncoached volunteer workouts until fall camp.
re: Who’s coach of the year?

1. A first-year coach of a team with a shitty record.
2. A shitty team that fired their coach.
3. Another shitty team that fired their coach...with a girl kicker.
4. A shitty Kentucky team.
5. The shittiest LSU team of this century.
His five wins are over teams that are a combined 12-33. I'd like for just one person to point out the big fricking accomplishment in that record.
I don't care if he beats Georgia 77-7. The winner of the SECCG deserves it.
It’s almost like you’ve never seen a mirror. Point out what’s impressive about a team thought to be one of, if not the best prior to the season beating 2 teams. If mu beating Georgia doesn’t matter, Alabama winning would be even less impressive. 7 of your 9 wins...
1. The team you just tried to prove is trash
2. “ The shittiest LSU team of this century”
3. “ A first-year coach of a team with a shitty record ”
4. “A first-year coach of a team with a shitty record”
5. “ A shitty Kentucky team”
6. shitty team that will probably fire their coach
7. Shitty in state team with wins over teams that are 16-27
I mean what’s more impressive? A coach winning 10 games against 8 “shitty” teams (assuming a victory over ark) when his team is expected to play for a national title ? Or a coach with a shot at 6-7 wins and no worse than 3rd in his division when everyone predicted them to win 2-3 and finish no better that 6-7th?
I get your point, but what Alabama does is hardly impressive anymore or an example of a coach overachieving. If your giving the award for exceeding expectations than you pick a coach who did much better than expected. Otherwise it’s the coach of the best team award.

Nebraska bent the rules. They took players that were criminals, wiped away their issues while in school (armed robbery, sexually assault, assaults with deadly weapons) used local scholarships to give rides to walk in’s and they used prop 48’tontake player that would have had to go to juco because they couldn’t qualify for admission to other schools.
Add in that there were only a handful of games on Tv each week and they were a premier program it allowed them to over come all their short comings.
Fast forward to damn near everyone on tv and 22 years since they were allowed to enroll criminals and idiots and look at where they are. They have all the same disadvantages, plus added new ones now that they moved their recruiting base north, but now have to fight everyone for juco players and lost the perk of being one the only schools you can be see on TV and we are in a play now era where player don’t sit for 3-4 years waiting for their turn. Their ship sailed and it’s not coming back.

We played with 52 yesterday, and we had to move OL to DL and WR to DB to have enough numbers at those positions I think the game will happen if at all possible consdering both teams track records this season.
And hell that included two suspension who had to sit out and three more injured players who were “out” but were emergency dressed. I think at this point teams will play unless they cant
re: Missouri fans: who is the best all time NFL player from Mizzou?

As others have said top 3 would be Winslow, Wehrli and Justin Smith because of H.O.F. (Smith with a good chance to make it)
Some other older all pro/pro bowl and noteworthy players;
Eric Wright
James Wilder
Russ Washington
Andy Russell
Johnny Roland
Mel Grey
Eric McMillan
Jeff Cross
Byron Chamberlain

The 3rd down play is where they fricked up, they were able to slip Marshall out to the flat and only one guy on our defense read it correctly. Bolton swatted the pass away but had Brennan lofted it they probably walk in for the win.
Bledsoe read it and got crushed by a “pick”. He got put on his backside on a straight up crack back block by the wr. But yes, the call was good, the route was good and the QB made a decent throw that was blocked by Bolton. A great throw probably does give lsu the win on that play.

Barry is alright. I wouldn’t put all you eggs in that ms state game basket. That was an old rehashed Dave steckel/Gary Pinkel game plan that was used half a dozen times to shut down Texas tech. Just wait till some team runs out a wr as qb or does something different than expected and watch as he is unable to adjust.

Now come on...who the hell did you beat? UGA? I predicted before the season they would lose 3 games at least and maybe four...why? No defense at all...forget the injuries, their demise, the weakness of their defense....but the injuries didn't help them mostly on offense. Vandy? Okkkkkk. Murray State, Toledo, Indiana, Arkansas State are fodder....there would be a few more teams in the SEC undefeated with that schedule.
This is the kind of stuff I love. Down grade a team you know nothing about by mocking their schedule. And then saying "well...if you beat my gators I will believe. "
Yet who the hell has Florida beat to determine they are a good team? Toledo, Tenn, Ky & Arky? Mizzou beat that same toledo team and your three SEC wins combined have a 7-12 record and are 0-8 in SEC play. And lets be honest here. If you were making a list of game pre season mizzou could win when everyone still thought we would suck, tenn, ky and arky would have been on it.
Florida has a great defense. And mizzou very well may lose this game. But don't act like Florida has actually beaten anybody impressive.
Now go ahead and butcher me. I know logic isn't allowed on the Rant
re: Has Anyone Wondered How Haith, an Unsuccessful ACC BBall Coach...
Posted by frodaddy on 10/3/13 at 7:50 am
Haith was a top and leading recruiter. Fuller is one of the top rucruiters in the country. And in basketball, once a player sees successful players similar to them it becomes easier to get that player. Transfers for example. Plus we play a fun style and have good players already. Its not as far out as some may think. Besides if they have a top 150, there are only so many bluebloods.
If anything it should show you just what a tard suitcase was when it came to recruiting

We have taken under the max we could have for I believe the past two years. Also have had none qualifiers and players leave and/or kicked off the team. So we have spots available on our 13 class and as long as a few of these commits are early enrollers we will be fine
