As of yesterday they were working hard to get Marshall. He's not crazy about leaving right now, next year is better for him and his family, but the money might be enough to sway him here.
The offer is on the table, the other option is Howland. He's been receptive to our calls. Sounds like he's feeling out the Marshall situation.
Anderson is off the table for now, he's not happy about being passed up for Haith, the AD believes he'll stay at Warrensburg to prove a point.
The situation is super fluid right now, he's not sure what the BOC meeting is for, he figures someone has bit the hook.
He should know more tonight or tomorrow and will get back to me. He also stated that admin wants this quiet on all fronts, and that they learned a lot about who their moles were during the SEC negotiations.

Kilgore approves either way I would guess. He is getting crucified on TB whenever he tries to tell them it is Marshall.

The melt will be fun, but the coming seasons will suck. I'm hoping for the successful long haul over the two day melt and the three year sulk.

Even if I get the 411, I've been sworn to secrecy. He lurks here, so I don't want piss him off.
But if/when I do get the nod, I'll be sure to update and let you guys know if you'll be happy, or really fricking happy.

I was told in January that there are people with fat wallets who are not happy with the fact that we stepped into the SEC after his first year and shite the bed.
There are factions that still want us to be a basketball school. I don't get it.

I don't get why we have to submit to being one or the other. Seriously, until 1990 the Florida Gators were a nothing school. They sucked at both major sports.
Football school, I'm 100% behind. Being a basketball school in addition takes a few million dollars and a coach that can find three or four players a year. Get the dude that can do it and be both.
ETA: Maybe the late 80s for Florida basketball, point still stands, though.

I really believe Marshall is taking a hard third look. Having a son who will be a senior is HS next year is making it tough for him. He has really been treated like royalty in Wichita, as the WSU fans and community really support the program!
With all that being said, most ambitious people won't remain the big fish in a small pond, when given a chance to prove they can be a shark in the ocean. (Not to mention the financial gain he could receive,)
