LSU has played much better on both lines of scrimmage, but the O-Line is still a bit of a weak spot at LG. But I think they've played better the last couple of games.
Alabama's O-Line on the other hand, is porous. There are defenders in the backfield every play almost bringing Russell down, and if not for his athleticism, that O-Line would have given up better than 30+ sacks so far this season rather than just 22.
I have a feeling Russell and that O-Line is going to struggle most of the day, but will probably hit a couple of busted coverages.
I am still taking LSU by double digits to win.

How do you feel about Leavitt vs a not-so-great by HIGHLY opportunistic secondary?

A lot of the sacks that Russell has taken has been his fault. Holding onto the ball too long, trying to wait for the big play instead of checking down. Some of it has been our OC calling long developing plays where all of our receivers are 20+ yards downfield and there is no safety valve. and yes, some of it has been bad protection.
But our oline has been banged up and injured. These two weeks to get healthy and get important players back is HUGE.

How do you figure this??? You’re only saying this based on the past couple of weeks when Alabama picked up some crucial injuries. Going into the UGA game for Bama you would have sounded foolish with this statement…
Can I ask, did you play as good against a common opponents such as Kentucky on both lines of scrimmage?

Well, how about this....Russell has been sacked 22 times this year while Leavitt has taken 11 sacks...the LSU O-Line has given up 12 total all season.
LSU sacked Marcel Reed 4 times while Alabama sacked him twice.
A&M did not sack Leavitt while they did sack Russell twice.

To add what I responded with earlier also...LSU did not sack Minchey while Alabama sacked him 4 times.
LSU has been without Spears and Weeks so...

Hell, I don't even know who is playing for Alabama in this game. We've got like 8-10 guys out, not even counting banged up players.
Oh and we kicked a guy off the team for being a dumbass to make things worse.
I hope the bye and 2 weeks helps them get healthy, but I still don't have a clue.
I'm pretty sure Will Sanders won't be playing, he just had surgery. That was our starting LG. And Kirkpatrick Jr likely isn't coming back.
But the others, no fricking clue.

LSU has been plagued with key injuries all season.

Must have been really bad for the team to vote him off like that.

Nobody is intimidated by the Gump defense anymore.
It's been a while, honestly.
2 sacks vs Aggy, at home
Kelly Russell will need to put up 35+ to keep it close.
